Yeah that's what attracts me to the platform. It's really tame on the street, but in open country that thing is just a monster, especially with the FOX 3.0 upgraded shocks.
In 3 weeks I'm doing Trail of Missions again, but not in the 4Runner. I'll be taking the 4Runner back in 2019 if it's not sold by then. However I'm co-driving a well upgraded 2018 Gen 2, and I'm stoked. I just can't wait to have the confidence to push a vehicle that hard.
It's also a tough choice, I know as a daily I'd want the SCREW, but I know the SCAB is the better choice wheel base wise.
I have no doubt you will have an absolute blast at Trail of Missions in one! Once you drive one hard offroad you will want one even more, that put the final stamp on it for me.
Just a heads up from everything I am hearing is that the new Fox shocks are amazing in stock form but do not play nice with collars, etc since they will be controlled by the ECU. Heard that directly from a Ford Performance engineer.
