LBJ Bolt Specs

Hi all !

I'm doing my LBJ's this weekend and my Yota dealer cannot get a new set of bolts for me ( some kind of BS up here in Canada about them redoing their parts computer system ) . Any of you guys have the specs ? Size , length , grade of the bolts ? Would certainly be appreciated , thanks !

You can, but I wouldn't reuse them. The bolts themselves have been known to shear off sometimes. I wouldn't risk it for something so structurally important. Especially when it's something so easy and cheap to replace at the same time.
 
You can reuse them, but I personally wouldn't. You'll need to find M12-1.75 X 30 bolts, and a Grade 10.9 would be best. If you can find a flanged bolt that's ideal, but a regular bolt with a washer will work.

Does anyone have the torque specs? I replaced my lbjs a while ago but didn't have the bolds at the time. Now that I have them I might as well do it this weekend.

I live in Moncton NB, pretty much anything Ive ever gone into dealer for in last year the answer I get is, "Toyota Canada deems the part obsolete".

Just ordered a whack of parts from US, priced all usual suspects, camelback, village, ebay etc best price I got was from sparks Toyota. Just for reference if you need to order in future
 
You had no issues getting the stuff shipped to Canada ?

sorry no, I ship to Calais ME, borders NB, Ace Hardware, theyre a depot, they'll receive your pkg for small fee. Drive across p/u and drive back and still way cheaper.

when I lived in Calgary there was a place across border also that did that. id be willing to bet prolly a bordertown in WA, somewhere there's a similar service. Always something like it in "bordertowns"

I did order my energy bushings from amazon.ca as they were just as cheap ordering from US
 
Ok because i know the dealers up here were screaming about us ordering from dealers stateside and they stopped all that .

I thought they stopped sending to drop box places too . Glad it worked out .

I bought my lbj's (OEM) on ebay for 225 Canadian so did ok there . Up here it was like 250 a side .
 
Amayama will ship to your door straight from Japan. Sometimes they are incredibly fast (3 days) sometimes incredibly slow (3 weeks). Heavy things are expensive to ship but small things are good.

I'd just use the old bolts until you get new ones. Just don't do hard core off roading.
 
If you’re getting hardware store bolts make darn sure they are 10.9 metric. That’s what Toyota uses on the LBJs. An 8.8 will not torque up the the factory spec and could fail.
