Leak Detection Pump......the internal dc motor

It's on the 4th gen Evap Canister assembly.

Similar to the logic we use when replacing the door lock actuator motor.

Anyone had the pump apart, and identified the small dc motor?

Thanks,
Kevin

Come on guys.......

Surely someone has taken the EVAP canister pump assembly apart.......and identified the small internal dc motor.

Post up!

Thanks,
Kevin

Well..........finally got around to replacing the leak detection pump on the evap canister assembly.
Next.....is to clear the codes......and wait......to see if they reappear.

I'll be taking the pump apart, to see if I can identify the small vacuum pump dc motor.

Still.........it's hard to believe that no one has identified the little motor.

Later,
Kevin

I've never seen a post about this so maybe not a common issue?

Guess I should have listed the thrown codes.

P043E
P043F
P2402
P2419
P2401

BTW.........it was NOT the gas cap.

My main point is that the REAL problem boils down to the small dc leak detection pump......5-10 dollar motor.......and not the entire $800 evap canister assembly.

Hope this helps.

How easy was it to disassemble and change the motor? What specs were the new motor?

The leak detection pump was indeed the problem. It's internal dc motor would only work intermittently.
I bought an OEM replacement off of eBay.
Here's the link.
EVAP Purge Valve Pump 90910-14002 For 2005-2015 Toyota Tacoma Charcoal : AF005 | eBay

I've tried to find a replacement for just the motor.......but no luck.

Hope this helps.......

Here's a video where the guy disassembles the leak detection pump and gets it sorta working again but explains why it's just better to replace it.
