Leaking Steering Rack

Once again, I need some advice from the experts. Had my front end looked at because I just couldnt seem to figure out why it feels so jittery. I talked all about it in my thread "jitters on bumps". After inspection they told me my inner tie rods are loose. That was surprising because the steering doesnt feel very sloppy. And Im not that confident that its the main cause of the jitters. Anyways I looked in the tutorials section and found that tightening that play in the inner rods is a fairly easy fix. BUT, the boot seals are also leaking. Im not excited about the idea of paying $400 for a new rack (at least not at the moment). When I have the time and money I will be extatic to replace it. But for now my question is can those boot seals be replaced? Thanks

I was wondering if anyone has experience with a rebuilt rack. They are on ebay for 325$$.

I read another thread a while back and the guy said not to get one remanufactured. I think he said he had gone through two remanufactured racks, plus the original! His advice was to go with a new OEM rack, which should save money in the long run.

To be more specific . . . the leak is in the rack itself. It just leaks into the boot i imagine. And then eventually it seeps out where the boots are clamped on. So do I have any other options apart from getting the rack rebuilt or replaced?

Does anyone know . . . are the steering racks on all 3rd gens the exact same model? Im wondering if I can put a rack from an 01 on my 98sr5.
