Leaky Sunroof

I just noticed a little bit of water dripping from my sunvisor mount when it was raining yesterday. It seems like it would be the weatherstripping around the glass on the sun roof. Is this replaceable? Or are there any other ways to get it to seal up without going through all of that? I checked and it does close all the way. I have no idea how long it has been like this and just not dripping inside. Hopefully more things aren't all borked up...

First thing, make sure all the drains flow freely and aren't clogged. Second, the weather stripping tends to shrink which lets more water in. As far as I know the sunroof seal isn't available separately from the glass. Some have stuffed the seal with wire to help it seal better. I have mine temporarily disabled because it rattles so bad but I've thought about injecting the seal with expandable foam through a really small syringe.

The seal has holes in it to help it drain. It's not sold separately. Might have some rust forming on the frame of the window. But I'd say your drains are clogged.

Thanks guys. I took a look at the drains and the one on the side where it was leaking was completely blocked. I cleaned off what I could get at but don't know if that was the full extent. What is the best way to check? I would think blowing air down it, but that would mean I would need to find a compressor...

Blow gently, or you will be disassembling some interior to find the disconnected tubing.

I like the string trimmer idea. Have to try that soon. Great idea. I just hope the drain lines are not disconnected...

I had a similar issue - upon examination I found that a mouse had chewed through the drain tubing near the sunroof connection. Trimmed the tube, reattached, no more leaks. And oh yeah, I dealt with the bigger issue first... no more mice.

Sorry, I forgot all about this thread after I fixed it. The tube must have been slightly disconnected or something because I took it off then reattached it and had no problems. Poured water right in the corner if the SR and all went where it should go. Tried the string trimmer idea and it went pretty much all the way down, past the leak anyway. Will keep that in mind for future issues though...
