Leather On Driver Side

Hey, I just got a '97 4Runner Limited! I'm real excited I just turned 16 on the 26th of May. It's an awesome car so far. I love this website, it's great. But I do have a question, on the driver side right where you get in the leather is a little ripped. I guess this is from constant sliding in and out of the seat over the years. I was curious what you guys recommend to fix this. I don't really want a seat cover I would like to patch it with the same color leather but I'm not sure if that would work. If any of you have an idea I would greatly appreciate it!

Joe,
As far as fixing the existing leather, I don't think it can be done. The worst case is that the seat cover will have to be replaced. You might want to look for an upholstry shop or someone who specializes in leather repair. Let us know how things turn out.

Alright thanks. I just saw on some car sight, where you can match leather to patch up a part, but I wasn't sure if anyone had tried it. Thanks for the help.

If you take it to an Upholstery shop that deals in automotive
repairs they should be able to take out just the panel that is worn
and replace it with a new one so it looks good as new!
