LED bar whistle help —FIXED—

I recently installed a 42” curved LED bar on my roof but can’t seem to stop the whistling noise. Yesterday, I used door trim on the bottom few fins but it didn’t work. Earlier today, I taped the bottom few fins and angled the bar, in which the noise reduced but when i tilted the bar downward (where it should be) it would start again.

I’ve been researching all over the web for a solution. I’ve read its possibly due to the curve of the bar.

My next option is to get door insulation from home depot but i’m thinking if the tape didn’t work, that won’t either.

Any ideas?

lol I’m ok with the wind noise but there HAS to be a solution for the whistling

i mean you have the right idea of tapping off the fins on the back... maybe adjusting up or down to get the angle just right.

I was driving around with my arm stuck out the window trying to adjust it lol. If i angle it up to the sky, the sound goes away, but theres no point to that. its driving me crazy!

Fixed

Almost gave up on the bar when I figured i’d give it another shot. Went by home depot and picked up rubber weatherstrip tape.

Frost King E/O 5/16 in. x 1/4 in. x 17 ft. Gray EPDM Cellular Rubber Weatherstrip Tape-V25GA - The Home Depot

I came up short and was only able to cover up the bottom three fins completely. Since the weatherstrip splits in two with adhesive on both sides, I overlapped each fin, making sure there was no open space. Had a little extra leftover so i split it up between the last couple of fins.

With some trial and error, i tilt the bar up just a little and drove up to 55mph…
NO NOISE!!

I’ll probably end up buying another roll and to finish the bottom portion and to see if i could angle the bar down just a little more.
