LED Bar switch with ignition on only

Hi everyone, newbie here and need some help.

i got an question. i purchase the OPT7 Offroad Light Bar wiring Harness Kit for my LED bar and want the switch enable when car in ignition only

do i cut the switch 12v wire and T-tap to other 12v ignition wire?

I would not try to wire it directly to an ignition switched source. Rather tap an ignition switched source off the fuse box using an add-a-fuse or something and run that to a relay. Then cut your +12 harness wire and wire either side to the high current side of the relay. That way the light current is only going through the harness wiring/switch and relay and not drawing off of anything under your dash. (relay draw is very low so would be much much safer to where ever you end up attaching it)

Yeah I wouldn't recommend directly wiring it into the ignition
