LED bar wiring

Hey guys haven't been on here in forever. Anyway I was wondering if for wiring up a light bar my only option is to order a harness online? Couldn't I just get some wire a switch and a fuse from my auto parts store? If so what gauge and what size fuse? I know gshadow is the man for wiring but I don't remember his whole user name, could someone tag him for me? Thanks in advance!

you could do that, i found that extending a pre made harness was pretty easy, it came with the switch, relay, and fuse, as well as plug connectors for the lights

That harness will work, or any autoparts store will have the required gear.

Use a 14-16 gauge wire.

Thanks guys, goinmg to order the harness and get the bar wired up. It's actually one I got in the secret santa we did on here, been lazy haha.

I actually already have it mounted up, just needs to be wired. I took out the lower grill and mounted it there, except its only a 20" bar so it looks a bit strange. I'm happy with it though. Ill upload a pic from my phone in a minute.

yeah i did, just used extra wire to extend it where i needed. works well

I picked up one of these, haven't wired it yet, but I like that it lets you choose the LED color to match whatever you've done with your interior.

I ended up ordering this harness

Finally got it wired up, the switch that came fit nicely in the blank next to my diff lock button. Just had to take a utility knife to the opening a bit.

Now to wait till dark to see just how bright it is!
