Switches look awesome, what bulb size did you use?

Hmm, was not aware you could do the window switches too. Might have to fix that! Was it easy enough? And what size bulbs? Never taken apart the door before

The window switches use one tiny led. I used two but you have to modify the switch for the pass switch to illuminate. You have to drill a hole under the lettering to let the light thru and install a clear lense to focus the light up. If you take off the switch rockers you'll see what I mean.

The dash switches actually have bulbs in them but no wiring to power them up.
I just ran two wires to the dimmer switch for power and ground.

Huh, very strange. It looks much better like this, I wonder why Toyota didn't connect them

I have a 99 and use my Amazon prime to the fullest well they didn’t have a 24 bulb but the 74’s i ordered fit soooooo i guess **** it?
Very interesting...I too figured there had to be a substitute for 24!

Green LEDs?
Has anyone tried the Green colored LEDs? I'm thinking of finally tackling this project but maybe not replacing all of the lights. And would prefer not to have different color lights. I think I would like the Amber but have heard that, for example, the light behind the clock is difficult to replace, and that the blinker LEDs are too bright. So just thinking of going with Green in order to keep a consistent look.

I've seen guys do red and blue for the 3 behind the 2 main dials. I did bright white.
You can't change the clock internally, easily, but you can put a gel film over it, externally

LED Swap
Great article and thanks for sharing the info. I have a 99Limited Runner and used the chart to change out mine. All went well except I am having issues with the turn signals. Chart did not specify signal bulbs. I am trying to use the #74 like you said in the article for your 01. Is #74 used for 99 as well or do I need another type bulb? #74 fit in just fine but signals aren't working.

Word of caution if using this website. The seller claims “ You should plan 3-7 business days to receive your order in the US, if ordered from the website”. If only. They only shipped my order after I asked what was going on two weeks after placing it. It finally arrived 21 days after ordering. Then it arrived short one bulb. So I tell the seller, they imply they didn’t leave it out and ask for pictures which I provided. I haven’t heard anything since. I should have figured they were as tacky and cheap as their website. Unfortunately I didn’t notice I was short a bulb til I had my dash ripped apart. So now I’m scrambling to find something that likely won’t match to get it put back together.
LED conversion for 2002 SR5 LIST
I just converted everything to LED on my 02'. I bought everything on Amazon and I will post all the links.
I was able to use the #74 LEDs for everything in the combination meter (except for the 4WD lights which I did not change). I have not had a problem with them going out. I would recommend buying some dimmer bulbs for the shift position. It is really bright. I'm contemplating on changing these back to halogen.
The biggest problem I had was swapping out my fog lights. I had to drill the small three bolts out of the bottom of the assembly to even change out the bulbs. The bottom cap is now strategically zip tied and its MINT (Roadkill fans know what I'm talking about). Every time I solved one problem another would arise. Needless to say, due to the elements, my wire connectors were brittle and the wires were toast. I ended up having to cut wires and splice my own connecters. The important thing is, they work!
If you swap blinkers bulbs, you will have to install an LED blinker relay to eliminate the hyper flash.

This is awesome, thank you. I want to swap over to LED but i'm worried they'll be too bright. I *really* hate bright lights... I could build in a custom PWM dimmer but that's a bit absurd

Two years ago I swapped all my interior dash lights for LEDs. I am in the process now (almost complete) of redoing everything. Let me explain why:
1. I went with all blue LEDs bc my vehicle is blue. Because some of the lenses are colored, the shade of blue can vary with the finished product. So that has been bothering me for two years. The blue NEO light bulbs for the center console also didn’t match perfectly with the dash shade of blue.
2. Some of the indicator lights are too bright with LEDs (especially the high beam and D gear lights).
3. After switching to LEDs, my TSC TRAC light came on. I replaced 02 sensors, ran Cataclean, everything to try to avoid replacing catalytic converter. Nothing worked. Then I just happened to stumble across a post of someone with a 2002 4Runner that had same issue and turned out it was the LED bulbs.
So to correct these issues, I used green LEDs for the large gauge dials, went back to halogen bulbs for all the indicator lights, and went with white LEDs for center console lights. This has gotten rid of the TSC TRAC warning light and in my opinion looks much better. It’s also much quicker with the halogen bulbs since they don’t have an orientation like the LEDs…you only have to put them in once.
I would highly recommend only using LEDs for the 3 large gauge cluster lights and sticking with halogen bulbs for indicator lights.
Just my 2¢. Hope this helps anyone contemplating this project.
