Led Interior write-up

I am not sure I understand the question. Can you clarify?

Your right that didn't make much sense.
I meant how many bulbs do you need to buy for each type to make it look like your interior.

Here is a screenshot of my order, if I went through JA's site correctly, I should have 1 bulb left over as the glove box bulb comes in a 2 pack.

Hope it helps.

JA feel free to correct me if my order was wrong. (note: i am not doing the footwell mod)

Teqeeler, see ZandT4R's order, it is correct. And yes you will have one left over #74 golve box bulb. The 1.5W bulbs used for the maps are on sale right now too for a good price.

I did not include a quantity column on my quick reference chart so as to avoid confusion between how many bulbs are on the vehicle (thought that was obvious) and what quantity needs to be ordered from VLeds. This is due to some items sold by VLeds which come in a 2pk. So for example The #194 bulbs used in the doors...The vehicle needs a quantity of 4 but you only need to order a quantity of 2 as they are only sold in 2pks.

Also like he mentioned, the footwell lights are not included on his order.

I just got done installing all my V-LED's. I am totally thrilled with the results. It is not even dark out yet and I can already tell a vast improvement. When I took all the bulbs out of the box I thought to myself "I paid 100 bucks for this!?!?!?" But after installing them and seeing the improvement, I rank this the best mod I have ever done to any of my vehicles ever! J.A. I totally owe you a beer if you are ever in Houston. Your write-up was spot on and helped me do this mod correctly in one shot with no headaches. I thank you for your research and sharing it with the community.

For those of you on the fence about this mod, I urge you, just do it! You will not be disappointed.

Thanks again J.A.

Now to do the map light mod!

I done the same using 15LED in each socket inside and 5LED on the running boards, doors and plate. Lights the inside up like daylight.

Another great write up from JA! I really like the white output and the lower power consumption. I did receive one bad #194 led bulb for one of my running boards so I'll contact them about what's best to do. But other that, fantastic mod! Here are my results...

Thanks JA!

Looks good s-one! I would posts pics of mine but it looks the same. Yours actually looks a little brighter, but I think its an illusion of the grey leather. I have black leather so it absorbs more of the light I guess.

Even still fantastic mod!

Guys, thanks for the comps. Glad to hear you got this done so quickly and that you are as satisfied with the results as i am.

I cant see the pics here at work cause you have them loaded to a site which we have blocked access to, but I will see them lateer tonight.

Dont know if this needs to be said or not, but if the leds dont work when inserting them initially, try turning them around to reverse the polarity, unlike incandescents, Leds only light up if the polarity is correct. If you tried that already, and I am sure you did, VLeds will take care of it, no worries. :bigok:

I did notice that a lot, I think 4 or 5 of the 11 bulbs I put in were backwards at first. Glad I figured that out right away or it woulda drove me nuts.

Yea think you may be right. I'm not a camera expert and took the pictures without flash and no photo touch-ups.

Yep, actually it was correct when I initially installed it and it lit up fine. Then after a few seconds it dimmed on me. I sent Vleds an email so I should be hearing from them.

I'm going to order some more interior LEDs, but at the same time I want to fix the terrible reverse lights that are on my 2004. Has anyone put in a brighter LED to try to fix this? VLED have a 4 watt on sale but I'm worried it will get too hot and cause problems.

Took a look at the pics last night, looks really good. Have you heard back from VLeds? I know they have a form on their site that you fill out and mail in, no advance rma number needed.

Yep sure did... although now I have two that went out. I must have gotten a bad batch of #194's. Anyhow, they are shipping me a replacement for the first one and they haven't received my email for the second yet. Here's their response:

me too

i also, ordered from v-leds, love the light out put, but after only a couple days, ive lost 3 194s already.( 2 different colors) theyre sending replacements but still, am i only the 2nd person to get a bad batch? i might check out another co. if this continues, someone told me the smts are different than the reg. leds & theres something in them that overheats in tight spaces.

Interesting. So I'm not the only one. Ok well they are shipping my second #194 out. With the exception of the two bulbs going out, v-leds service has been great.

Hi J.A. it looks awesome! do you have the website where you got the LEDs for the running board? And also part #? Thanks!

I lost one of my 194's also. It has only been in the truck for 2 weeks and I had only driven it 2 or 3 times since the install. V-LED's service is great! I hope I don't have any more go out.

You too? weird... well they sent me my two replacements lickity split.. just hope they last though. So far so good.
