Led Interior write-up

all in all, the footwell light mod & bulb upgrade is great! ( i used the strip lights in the well instead) the new bulbs are super bright, between the doors & footwells, i hardly even turn on the dome, & i used the amber color. i did however, install xtra lights in the glove box, even with the new bulb, just couldnt see enough. everything is well worth the time & money for those thinking of these.

Map light

One quick question...

How did you removed the map light console?, im changing to LED's and I haven't found out how to change those bulbs.

Alberto, it is quite easy. You do not remove the console at all to change out the bulbs. Installation begins with the maplight lens removal. Use a small flatheat screwdriver to pry out the lens beginning with the inner most facing part of the lens and after you get that freed, pry out the outer section. There are four clips built into the lens that hold it in place. Be careful not to snap them off.

Let me know if that helps. I am doing another entire page on the interior leds. The OCD bug got me again and in the never ending pursuit of perfection I changed out every interior bulb once again to go from 6k to 5k color. I will be sure to clear up the maplight installation details on the new page which should be released in a few days. Thanks!

J.A. Do you like the 5K better than the 6K color? I'm getting ready to do this mod, but I think the 6K may be just a little to blue for me. I really like the exterior led's you put in and the 5K on the license plate looks perfect. I think thats the route i'm gonna go for the whole truck. Thanks in advance for any info and the great write-ups!!

Personally I do like the 5k better. I must say that the 6k do look nice on a silver 4R though. The 5k have absolutely no blue in them. The 6k's have a little. Its very hard to exactly capture the color of leds on camera and the 6k look a little more blue in pics than real life.

I am ready to order all of mine but I can't seem to get a coupon code to work. I tried joining their newsletter but no email was received. If I order a small package do you think they'll send me a coupon to get 15% on the rest of it (next order)?

You signed up for the newsletter but it comes out about three times a month, not sure when the next release is. About two of the newsletters each month have the coupon. Email them direct and tell them J.A. sent you, see if that helps. Good Luck.

I love the looks of the LEDs but for some reason can't pull the trigger on buying them.

Wow, this inspired me. I can't see anything with the factory lights in my 2000 4Runner. Hopefully I can get working on a conversion project as successful as this before mid-winter

That was really helpful! Thanks a lot. I did the exact process you told me but instead of starting with the inner facing part i started with the back facing part.

That's really excessive!! But it's fine... whatever it takes to be happy with your T4R haha.

I love the way it looks, but i wanted some brighter LED's. Maybe I'll change them also LOL. I also changed the license plate bulbs for LED's and the ones in the running boards. I'll wait for the ones in the headlights until i got my HID's.
