LED lighting

Duhockey - Thanks, you stated that type A will not work for the rear defrost button, but on your part list, you had down Type A for ECT/rear defroster. What should I get for the rear defroster?

they say TS on them...

not quite sure, there are two bulbs in there, one amber and one white...

Has anybody had to take out the green film from their blinkers?
if so.. HOW?

easy... you pull the bulb and then you take the green plastic off the bulb

but, then your blinkers will be bright light white, honestly, that would be distracting for me, I would just replace the blinkers with another color LED when you replace the speedometer, tach and temp ones...

I plan on also replacing my 4wheel drive indicator... its green and annoying too..

i mean... you know how the hole u insert the bulb in is kinda deep? the film is right under the arrow at the bottom. it think u have to take out the face or something.. :/

oh, you have a 99, not sure if its different, mine you get to from the back of the whole assembly..

I should have taken pics, but was in a hurry, did it all in like 45 min....

I had to pull the whole assembly thing out of the dash and then you unplug the bulb by rotating the holder out of the assembly

yea when i pulled the bulb.. there was no green condom on it :(

All the bulbs for my '99 are en route. I had to buy from Autolumination because VLEDS didn't have the bulbs I wanted. When they get here and I start installing I'll take pics. I spent like $70 for all the bulbs...I got kinda outta control. Buying different colors to see what they'd look like, etc...lol. I might have some random bulbs for sale in a little while. :bluejump:

Where to get quality LED's?

I used Autolumination when I changed over my interior bulbs, but they do not seem to have a very long life expectancy. I have replaced the bulb in my glove compartment 3 times in a year, one of my dash bulbs burnt out about 2 months ago and now my shifter light it flickers (about to die).

Have you all had better luck with V-Leds or another source?

Thanks!

Try superbrightleds.com

I have used them for years on custom led installs and used them last month for my 98 runner blue light conversion. Many options on their website and fast shipping. Give em a shot

The shifter light flickering is not about to die. It's a bad connection. My stock 74 bulb flickered, after replacement with an LED it still flickers...comes on and off. Now that I hear about yours flickering...Im 100% sure there's a poor connetion somewhere for that specific circuit

hmm... well my experience has been that the flicker is the "death flicker". this happened on my dash bulb, tag light bulbs (x2), glove box bulb (x3) and they all died shortly after the flicker began. IMO it's cheap led bulbs that are not well built and they are giving up the ghost prematurely.

i will never buy from autolumination again the Blue "japan Made" neowedge LEDs they Sell took a crap on my a few weeks agoo and just flicker like crazy now i tried to order replacements from V-leds.com and got the wrong LEDs and now they dont answer my emails to return them for the cortrect ones. do you guys know which leds to purchase from V-leds? for the Ect. button, rear window?those are the only leds that i have flickering. it sucks.

I'm with you on that, V-Led's has been good in the past - 2 day delivery and relatively cheap. I thought I got all the right LED's but ended up getting the wrong ones for ECT, rear window and rear defrost, so they're just out. Oh yea and the 2 main climate control ones too
