LED lighting

I really hate to continue :deadhorse: but i swear i saw someone ask about the 4WD indicator on top middle of the cluster but now i can't find the answer after about an hour of searching :ranger: I give up.

So what bulbs are the indicators? I know they are a neowedge but are they a 3mm or 4mm (A or B)? Sorry for the noob question :fear:

Ok so I really wanna do this mod but I am really lost as to what I need. A lot of confusing info here and I seems like it changes from model to model (the years)

I have a 2001 sr5

Some help please???

Heh bringing this thread out of obscurity again, but I just did my truck yesterday and I LOVE it!
Ordered all from superbrightleds but I didn't realize I needed 3 bulbs for the AC controls :redbrick:
I also ordered the #74's from there and they didn't fit in either the shifter or the keyring. The bulb was slightly too big and round to go into either slot. So I'm getting ones from VLEDs to see if those work better.

Now this is something I can do with my eyes closed lol. Ill help you out man. You should have the same exact bulbs as mine. We'll make it happen

Alright guys,
Just like everyone else, I am wanting to do the led replacement. This post is stupid long and there is a lot of contradictory info so I just want to cover my bases before I order parts. I think I have most information but I do have a couple questions that I haven't found answers for.

I have a 2000 limited with the digital climate control.
Correct me if I'm wrong with anything pls

3- Dash light bulbs are they the 194 or 24s?
All other lights in the dash (blinkers, seat belt, ect pwr, check engine, etc) #74. I plan on replacing every single light while I'm in there with LEDs of different colors depending on the function. Seams like there's about 15-20

Are the p,r,n,d,2,l lights all individual bulbs? #74?

Rear window- neo wedge?
Rear defrost- neo wedge?
Ect- neo wedge?

Ignition-#74
Cig. Lighter- #74
Ash tray- #74
Shifter indicator -#74?

I have the digital climate control.
What all is needed to change every light in that?
Can the backlit screen on the climate control be changed as well?

I know this is a big topic as well but every single picture I've seen seams to show hot spots. Anyone gotten away from that? Sanding the bulbs, wax paper, etc?

I plan on opening up the dash and doing everything I have to do all at once.
-LED conversion
- CB Radio Ash Tray Instal
- stereo Instal
- Custom Switch Panel under the radio
- I plan on using the left accessory power and converting it into a key cylinder that controls power to the switch panel so your friends or kids can't switch all your lights on while your driving.

I'll post a detailed thread on these mods with pictures so anyone that wants too all this can knock it out all at once while your in there.

Give me three or four weeks and hopefully I'll have a thread.

My #1 piece of advice to you is buy a $5 tube of dielectric grease and use that on every socket you swap bulbs on. If not I promise you are going to have lights that flicker and go completely out due to the age of your vehicle. Those connectors just don't handle being taken apart very well.

i think the post that shows the illumination for the 4runners is wrong:

the map lights on my 1998 are NOT the Ba9s; i found out after i ordered a couple of LED ones and popped the dome off. they look like the 3175s instead..same as the passenger and cargo DOME lights. :( now i got 2 expensive LEDs i dont know what to do with..anywhere else i can use them?

On my 97 runner, the climate control bulb is not a 74. It is a 2723. I could not read the print on the OEM bulb, so I tried both. The 74 is too large, and the 2723 fit perfectly. Auto parts store guy says that the 2723 is common on Toyos, Hondas, Subys, etc.

It was a #74 on my 97
