LED lighting

Alright perfect.

So now all I need to figure out is:

1: Which BA9's
2: Which light for the visor

I can't remember the link for the visor light off the top of my head. I'll go back and look for it after class.

I ordered the white SMT BA9's and I ended up returning them. The stock map lights were brighter and covered a much larger area. They didn't "look" as cool, b/c they were still the stocky ugly yellow, but they were more practical than the LEDs.

But on a more serious note: I put a #74 in mine and it went in without a problem. What year do you have and where did you buy it?

I'm debating on changing the map lights and visor lights. If they aren't going to be as bright then I don't want to mess with them.

Which bulb did you try for map lights? They seem to have a pretty good selection. I agree that the stock ones are really bright.

This is the bulb I ordered. And like I said, it was dimmer than the stock lights which kinda defeated the purpose. The HID white was a cooler look than the yellow tinge of the stock bulbs but for practical purposes it didn't make sense to switch out the stock ones.

Well I got what was supposed to be my final shipment from V-LEDs so I could complete my LED conversion but they forgot to include the 4 #24 bulbs I ordered. Instead, I got 4 #194s when I only ordered 2. Argh. Now I've gotta sit around and wait for them to ship out the correct order.

yes the key ring requires some "wigglin" i just put a small tab of super glue while it was on and presto it works great!

Ok, so I need (8) 74s and (3) 24s. Any recommendations on blue LEDs? Would love for there to be no dead spots. Going in a 2001 SR5.

Also might consider white...I just am unsure of which one's to get b/c there are so many. Probably order them off of V-LED. Thanks!

I have a confusion regarding part #74 from Vleds. Last night I browsed all the posts, including the ones in yotatech, to gather all the necessary information for purchasing #74 for interior led conversion.

When I log to v-led webpage in the "Shop by part Id number" column the option given is "24 - 74", this is where my confusion starts. I'm interested in purchasing 4 leds for climate control, ignition key ring and transmission. The thing is that if a browse for the diferent types and colors, specifically item V-LEDS Part ID: 74_3_W , in the main title it says 2 V-LEDS 3 SMT HID WHITE WEDGE BASE DASH LIGHT BULBS 37 74. That 37 number is what is confusing me.

The reason I want to purchase from v-leds.com is because I recently purchased led's for turn signal and stop light and I've got a nice experience with the service and product.

Anyone can help me out?

I THINK that means that the 37 and 74 are the same size maybe? You can email VLED and they will tell you...I emailed them the other day and they emailed me back within 24 hours.

Yes, that's what I thinked also. The idea of emailing them is not very appealing to me because when I did my first purchase, asking the same regarding the turn signal light, all they did was link me to an external site, Sylvania, for a fitmen guide and it wasn't helpful. I'm thinking of either diasemble say the transmission cover and looking at the actual bulb and measuring it's dimension and comparing them to v-leds specs or just purchase a pair and praise for good luck

Not positive on the following but pretty sure:
Gauge Illumination: 3 - 24's

All other gauge lights: 74's
Blinkers: 2 - 74

A note on the digital climate control: There are one (probably two) lights that I didn't try to get to. They are most likely soldered. One light is the fresh/recycle air button and I believe there is another similar button on the upper right. Maybe this summer I'll get to it. Just a warning if you don't have soldering experience replacing the DCC if you screw up is quite expensive. Problem is the fresh/recycle button is always on so it will probably be annoying if everything else is a different color.

Power window, security, passenger seatbelt are all soldered.

it really depends how many of the bulbs you want to replace. every light under the speedometer, like the check engine light, the e-brake light, ABS, etc... are 74's. so if you want to replace all of those you can get 8 or even more, but those lights are hardly ever used so i chose not to replace them. I just got 3 #74's for the shifter, climate control, and glove box. and then yes 3 #194's for the speedometer/rpm/fuel/engine temp guages.

I have stayed away from autolumination and have been buying from V-LED's.com instead. they seem to be better IMO.

And yes the dimmer will still work.

do you remember exactly which ones you bought from autollumination? that site is so damn confusing lol
