LED lighting

do you remember exactly which ones you bought from autollumination? that site is so damn confusing lol
I dont remember exactly... it was about 3 years ago... the site has changed quite a bit since then and yes it is way confusing. thats the main reason that i would recommend v-leds.com instead. the site makes much more sense. lol

If i were to get some today these would be what i would order for 74 bulbs:
2 SMT HIGH POWER BLUE WEDGE BASE LED LIGHT BULBS 37 74

Oh and 4mudder, keep in mind you have a 2000, and i dont think the guage's are 194's for that year. but the 74's will work for your glove box, shifter, blinkers, check engine, etc, etc...

24's for the guages. definetly not 74's for the guages, but like i posted before, the 74's are for all the other little bulbs.

Ok,

so I wanted to start with a few and once I get into the dash, find out what else I want to do, I have a manual, so no shifter,

so I got

1 BLUE M-SMT 16 LED DOME LIGHT BULB DE3175 $10.99
BLUE M-SMT 16 LED DOME LIGHT BULB 3022 3021 DE3175

1 2 SUPER BLUE 6 LED LIGHT BULBS 194 $7.99
2 SUPER BLUE 6 LED LIGHT BULBS 194 168 158 s

that should be good for the dome and the some of the instrument cluster... need to get another 194 and some 74's just want to see what colors I want of the 74s,

what goes in the key ring again?? for a 96??

i believe its a 74 for the key ring

and you need 3 194's for the instrument cluster

Yep, went back and got another 2-194s in blue,

2 red 74s
2 white 74s

2 white t3/type "a" for the a/c and ??

they were out of stock on the blue 74s I wanted...

Ill play with the colors and see what looks good when i get em.

anyone got a list for 1999 sr5 2wd? and also what type of bulbs i should use? the 3 way or 5 way..whichever one that wont give me hotspots and cheapest

So, got em last night, went to put em in today, got to work a bit early in about 45 min I actually got almost all of them in... just need to put one in the glove box, you know where that one is??

Got all the instrument cluster ones in, was trying to test it out, but no light... does the instrument cluster ground to the dimmer switch to come on?? cuz with it out, there is no contact there... or did I not seat the bulbs well enough maybe??

once I get that working, I can button it up and take some pics!

with the glove box..open it and it should be right at the top, right where the latches latch onto the glove box, it should be some kind of circular grill shaped thing, just work it off and take out the bulb. that should do it

what model do you have? if its a 99 sr5 can u get me the list? thanks

LED bulbs have some finicky polarity thing with them - if they don't light up the first time it's usually because they were inserted "incorrectly" (basically you have a 50/50 shot at getting the polarity right when you install them). I learned this the hard way when I had to take apart my dash three times to get them all working correctly (and I still don't have them all working yet...)

Bryan, I think bootown had a good list up here somewhere.... Thought I got the right bulbs by following his instructions, except somehow I messed up on what bulbs to order for RR Defrost, RR window and ECT, as well as the two bulbs in the "image" section of the digital climate control

Yeah, I got the ones in the instrument panel working by flipping them around...

the key ring isnt working right now, so Ill try flipping it tomorrow.

Also, got one not seated properly behind the tachometer, everytime I go over a bump it comes on, next bump goes off!

I have a 96, not sure if its the same as mine... suspect its probably closer to the Greenmonsters 2001 than mine...

Anyone having issues installing the neo-wedges for the AC button, Rear def, Rear window button, and the Hazard for a 99 4R? I ordered a few type A and type B from Autolumination and they don't seen to fit correct. They looked different than stock bulbs. I even tested the bulbs before I installed them and then all light up fine. I was able to squeeze the type A in, but they are really tight and they still don't work. I might have installed them the wrong way, but I can't remove them without ruining the bulbs. Forget about the type B, they are just way too big to go anywhere. Is there any modifications that I need to do to make the work? Are the neo-wedge different from Vleds? See picture.

the Type A will work in the A/C but there is a green film behind the transparent letters so if you use white, it will still be green.

the type A's will NOT work with the rear defroster, those bulbs say TS on them

I did manage to get the A/C bulb out after I put it in, and turn it around for the correct polarity, but its tricky... have to have some eyeglass size flathead screwdrivers...

the Vleds " type A" or "t3" bulb is also larger than the original...

Duhockey - Thanks, you stated that type A will not work for the rear defrost button, but on your part list, you had down Type A for ECT/rear defroster. What should I get for the rear defroster?

I have 2001. How big (tall) LED can be to fit the gauge cluster?
I was considering one of those, but not sure that some will fit. How deep is the hole and how tall LED can be?
