Well, thats why i bought and installing a pwm dimmer switch, specifically for being considerate of other folks. Why i also said if they too much glare then i will figure something else out but considering this is not my DD, i think it will be great.

I have no doubt they will look great and work great. I was just making a suggestion based upon what I would do personally. Good luck with the project I hope it works out.
 
Like the idea but I agree with [MENTION=94545]MTD[/MENTION]. Most LED light bars are made to shoot light far or wide. I'd be more worried about that, not so much the brightness. Just my $.02.

i have the lights in my plate bumper. they are for fog lights. i installed some led bulbs there but they aren't that bright, but thought maybe i should swap those out to a brighter more street friendly bulbs and turn those on and turn the led light bars down to 10% light.
mainly just doing this to have more off road lighting at night. i go camping throughout the winter season here in San diego to Glamis sand dunes and more.
anyways, we will see how they work. thanks y'all for all the positive comments.
 
I think it's a heck of a cool idea. I use a 4 LED pod on my Harley and it works great. I can see everything, even with my tinted helmet lens. I think this will be super cool. Now, I'm considering doing two square pods in my headlights. You can get spots and floods too, so you could have "low" and "high".
 
I'm back....

ok fellas, so finally got off my ass and decided to get this done. it has been a pain in the butt. i got the ABS plastic sheet 1/4" thick. then i laid the template i made on it and traced it and started to cut.....







 
fitting the lights...

fitted the lights. did them with angle considering the contour/angle of the headlights when mounted on the vehicle. also angled them down a bit. i will also still be able to adjust angle with them back in the headlight cradle/ holder. i will be using a silicone adhesive so if i happen to need to get a light back out to replace for some reason, ill be able to razor blade them out. as far as the light mounting plate mounting to the factory headlight housing, ill be using a 2 part epoxy glue for permanent attachment.














 
epoxy the plate to housing...








blue tape to hold the plate in place where it needs to be till the epoxy dries. also keeps the epoxy from running down the face where there may be open areas from the cutting.






epoxy has dried and peeled the blue tape and preparing to paint in gunmetal metallic color.

so now...

so now i have cleaned the glass lenses up good and about to prepare to attach the lenses to the housing. currently working on them now so stay tuned, ill be right back! lol :pop2:

attached the lenses on and have them attached on the vehicle to see what they look like. still gotta wire them and put everything back together.... just a teaser

This is awesome man! I love different stuff. I hope you're able to figure out a way to safely drive it at night. Very cool.
 
They're very cool. There's just something not quite proportional about them. I think they're too low in the housing, I'm not sure. I might try and find a spare set of lights to experiment with.
