LED replacement Lights

I'll have to wait until I get a chance to go out with my camera. My iPhone doesn't do so well in complete darkness. The bulbs look great though. The license plate and map lights are super bright/white, and the blue door lights look awesome.

The only thing taking away from the blue LED effect from my doors is the stock dome lights showing through when I open the doors. Blue and yellow don't look that great together haha. It'll look better when the LED replacements for them come on friday. I might get some blue ones for the dome lights as well though, and just make the interior all blue.

It was 10 minutes well spent to install them.

lawwailok,
The 3022's came today. They are a really tight fit though. They seem like they will stay, but they didn't fit as well as the stock bulbs. Did you have this problem too? If so, do they still work fine?

Hey I'm looking at LED's too... especially replacing the information center bulbs(with the AC and temp date)... but are LED bulbs plug and play...or do you have to do modifications?

Thanks gentlemen.

All of the lights are easily replaceable. Just pull out the old one and plug in the new one. However, for the AC backlight (dashboard lights) it's not so easy. Any lights behind the dashboard are soldered. You would have to un-solder them and then find the right light, then re-solder them to the wires.

Has anyone actually pulled that off? If so i'd be very interested in the "how to".

One of my only gripes with the 4r is the damn orange dash. I think it's the only negative i've found on mine.

Sure wish they would've gone with that lexus white. :)

I'm not a fan of the amber back lighting either, but I don't have the balls to screw around with the wiring back there. I've heard of people that say they know how, but haven't looked into it far enough to figure out if they actually changed it or not.

let us know if you planning to do it... i want to see how it looks like...

I hate that guy, no fair. Jk of course, but I do wish that the 4runners came with the ability to change between 2 or 3 colors like other vehicles can. I believe scions can, and my girlfriends brother has an eclipse than can change the backlight color also.

there is a big difference in changing the HVAC lights and the cluster lights. For starters it requires a different type of light/plug etc... To my knowledge nobody on this forum has done the cluster.....

With the center console/HVAC, i need to find a way to spread the blue from the LED to equally spread light between all the fan speeds etc... I guess it'll take some playing around with.

I am excited to change out my bulbs now!

I have a 2004 is it the same light config. as the 2007?

And what type are the running board bulbs.... are those the 192/168 as well?

Thanks in advance

Depends, are you talking about the lights behind the dashboard? Because those need to be soldered, you can't just pull out the old ones and put in new ones. Just use this site to get all of the sizes for the bulbs that you CAN just plug in new bulbs for.

I have full LED interior besides the dashboard, got all the info I needed from that site. You can also ask either myself or lawwailok if you need help with anything.
