looks good, saw one very similar yesterday . Same wheels and tires plus the toyota badge on the grill. What size tires are you running?
Thanks. Where did you see it? I’m running 285/70-17’’s on a 17 x 8.5 +0 offset. No BMC or mud flap removal and good clearance. I’m at 3.7 degrees on aftermarket UCA’s. Front fender needs to be trimmed a little more and fender liners pushed forward for proper clearance off road.

I just traded in my Tacoma for a 2010 4runner SR5 w/ 211,000 miles. Already fitted a set of Rago sliders after trimming of the plastics rockers and added Trail edition wheels w/ Wrangler Duratracs.

SW ohio area, noticed it b/c of the tire size on it. I'm considering 275 or 285 once the current set is done

Go 285/70-17’s. You will never second guess yourself. I started out with 275’s in an E load and switched to a 285 SL load for the last 20k currently. Would never go smaller. Smooth ride, very good off-road performance, so many more tire options than 275’s and look better.
A 285 fits in the spare well underneath. GLWYD.

Yep - 2020 Venture @ Hollister Hills in Nor Cal.

Bilstein 6112 / 5160’s, 265 Nitto Ridge Grapplers, ARB skid plates (needed them) , Apex Rock Sliders. And a front camera mod - huge help when climbing.
Fun day.

Where is this? Looks very familiar to me. SoCal somewhere? I need to think about getting a front camera myself.

Very nice setup. Are you running 285/75-17’s? Locker up front? I love black.
Edit: I see your spare says 285/75-17. Gear change?

Hey man, yea they are the 285/75R17s with stock gearing. I have an EVC throttle controller that gives a little more "power" off the line and I run 93 octane but I really haven't noticed significant power loss with the bigger tires (I have had 265/70, 275/70, 285/70, and 285/75s all on the same truck). At this point I would opt for dual cases over 5.29s or 4.88s (I have heard just go for 5.29s if you are going to do it) in the diff since my on road performance is still relatively good IMO.

I have an ARB 193 locker in the rear and am just using the ATRAC up front in an effort to save CVs at the moment. It definitely isn't as effective as a true front locker and I have found that if you are "stuck" and need to search for traction, you need to straighten the wheel, get the front spinning and then start working the wheel back and forth until it hopefully grabs. My next tires will prob be the 35x11.50s Trail Grapps and then I'll revisit the front locker and, naturally, diff gears since the front diff will already be pulled.

Love what you have done to your's as well. I've kept track of it for awhile now on here. If you are ever in the SC area hit me up and we will go out to Gulches or somewhere.

Great pics. My brother lives in Cummins, GA. I have been to western SC and NC. Beautiful areas. Whose rear bumper do you have? I like it.
Checking my newer suspension today. Clearances on fenders, my Durobump stops, etc. Everything looked good and I’m ready to get out 4 wheeling again.

It’s been over a year since I posted any pictures on here (see Post #728).

A refresh was done and new upgraded parts were added.

Looks great. The 285/75-17’s are nice. So tempting. Love black.

I forgot to mention, I did regear to 4.88. It wasn’t required but I felt it was needed, especially running with 34’s, a front steel bumper, winch, rock sliders, under carriage skid plates, Gobi rack, etc.

Expect to lose MPGs if you go with 34’s. Basically, 34’s will cost more $$$ in the overall long term.

Now I’m thinking of going to 35’s after my 34’s tread wears down. I guess I’m never satisfied lol.

Yeah, I can’t justify it for the reasons you mentioned. I decided today to just purchase another set of 285/70-17’s. Baja Boss AT’s this time around. You have passed the point of no return now, but you have a nicely setup, good looking 4Runner. Happy trails. I’m guessing you were in the El Dorado foothills in those pics? I lived up near Sacramento in the 90’s.

I’ve meaning to check out El Dorado hills, but that was on private land down in Geyserville.
