lets see your interior mods

I camp out of the back of the 4R, so the shotgun is easily and rapidly accessible in that rack while I am sleeping. It exists not for self defense against humans, but against bears.

The rack is also a convenient way to carry a long gun up and out of the way, using dead space; and is easily accessed from outside either by opening the hatch or by lowering the glass a few inches.

The rack also keeps the gun hidden, since it is in the curvature of the roof and out of sight. Dirtbags, when peering in a vehicle, generally don't look up.

You can think it silly all day long, but it is the mod that most people who see my truck ask me about. I've probably sold 20 of those racks for Big Sky.

I love the mod and interior rack idea, but living in Philly or any city really..I can't justify losing my Mossberg to someone with a brick.

I have these also and the kids use them daily. Great mod for the little ones in your life. :thumb:

Here are a few of mine.

T4RPAM from Expedition essentials. Have a few other things through out the cabin but don't have pictures.

Still a great idea though, even if I only loaded it for trips/camping for bears.
How is it mounted to the roof, drilled and screwed all the way through I assume for security if you're using a cable lock?

I removed the factory "coat hooks" from the cargo area and bolted the rack to the factory welded-in nuts. I believe the bolt size is M6x20 but don't quote me on that. I replaced the factory bolts with hex head bolts. No drilling required to the 4R. Slight drilling required to enlarge existing holes on the Big Sky Rack itself.

It won't stop a determined thief but I don't leave it in there all the time either, only when I am camping or traveling.

Starting off simple.

Where did you get the red lettering on the 4WD shift know, I like it.

The first photo has two of my interior mods, heated seats (only time MY16 Trail was at the dealer) and a FJ shift knob from eBay to match the Trail 4WD shifter. I also switched out all the interior bulbs to LED, a Trail decal on the metal trim over the glove box and a center console divider.
