The Kenwood headunit with maestro module is one of the best mods I did inside. The benefits include.
1. All the vehicle data I could ever want, choose from several different gauges to display.
2. With the maestro module programming various buttons on the steering wheel to bring up certain pages on the screen. for example I hold the right button on the steering wheel for 3 seconds brings up this screen for vehicle data.
3. adding the Kenwood dash cam which is plug and play wired direct to the head unit to view videos, use it as a forward facing camera etc
4. The Garmin GPS on the Kenwood kicks the stock GPS butt and easily unlocked so you can use it while driving. Plus not laggy like the factory GPS
5. The sound is 10x better, the stock stereo gave me headaches to listen to, the factory audio is horrible in the 4runners

Very impressive. What is the purpose for the water tank? Also, where is it located? Love the setup you have. A lot of wiring and hard work. Do you happen to have any write ups on your work?
Again great job!!!

I use the water for showers and kitchen cleanup. It's a semi complicated setup since the water is heated via the thermostat you see in the pic. I have some details here in my build thread:

Was that question on PSI directed to me? I have Goodyear Duratracs 285/70/17's which say 80psi and I only run them at 55psi for everyday driving. I could probably get better mileage if I put them at 80psi though.

Maximum tire pressure is the pressure you run at with the tires maximum load, please don’t inflate your tires to 80psi lol. You are probably way over at 55psi too.

Yea I wouldnt go any higher. I hated them at 70psi on my 10,000 lb dodge ram cummins truck. 55 psi seems to be a good balance between mileage and comfort for me

I wouldn't run down to 35psi or below unless the roads were slippery. Too noisy and bad tire wear and too much loss in MPG, the 4runner is already horrible enough with mileage

This is a terrible thread jack but whatever.

Do you know anything about tires at all? I don't think that, I know that. I have done many years through high school and college working in tire shops, but it's pretty common knowledge that over inflating tires will result in uneven wear. You can google it yourself if you want, here are a few for you.

The 5th gen 4runner recommends 32psi from the factory, sure the OEM tires that come on the truck have a MAX inflation of higher, that doesn't mean you fill it to that. LOL.

Sizing up to 285s will result in more air volume, which is why folks run 35-38 normally.

You are running 285s but then you are concerned about mpg..... so you run them at 55psi, resulting in less contact patch then they would if they were run at proper psi. YIKES

I am perfectly knowledgable of tires and treadwear. The tires say to fill to 80psi but I only fill to 50 to 55psi and they are flat to the ground with a flat bulge to the ground so i know they are not overinflated just by looking at them.

I know tires, I would never over inflate my tires. I have a very flat profile of tread on the ground. Thats why if I go much lower I would start getting more wear on the outsides of the tread and make even more noise and lose more MPG

I had 60,000 miles on my last set and they looked perfect when I replaced them with no uneven treadwear. There is more than psi to factor when airing tires. The weight of the vehicle and accessories also dictate tread to ground contact

I think the issue here is you guys are talking about different tires. 32 PSI is the recommended for P/C load tires, E load tires are different.

The 10 ply vs 4 ply is a huge difference in PSI. For example - the Falken Wildpeaks have a max PSI of 51 for the C load, and 80 for E load. You shouldn't run 32 PSI in both.
