Leveling Kit Issues

Hey guys new to the toyota 4th gen. forum so bare with me if this is a topic elsewhere. I have a 2007 sport edition which I purchased 1.5 months ago with 105,000 miles and I love it. However looking at pics and getting car looked at Ive found out I have a leveling kit on the vehicle already. Whoever put it on however did it backwards and put the 2.5 on the back and 1.5 spacer on front. I love how high it sits but is the 2.5 spacer on the back going to max out my suspension?

I don't think it is possible to do it backwards due to the diameter of the spacers. And also most current setups have holes for the front bolts to go through which the rears don't have.

Trust me lol there is def a 2.5 spacer on the back and 1.5 on the front. So maybe they did it on purpose I'm going to keep it and just try to raise the front a little more if the suspension is ok

I'm no expert on this, but aren't your 1.5 inch spacers giving you 3 inches of lift in the front? I know for a fact that my 1 inch front spacers give me 2 inches of lift, due to the geometry of the suspension.

it is physically impossible to swap the two spacers. as others have noted, a 1.5" thickness spacer yields 3" of lift on the front, and a 1.5" spacer in the rear would yield exactly its thickness.

as you can see, its simply not possible to switch the two

A 1.5" spacer in the rear will also look larger than 1.5" due to the lip that comes over the spring. Pics above show this. Also like the other person said 1.5" thick spacer in the front equals 3" or so of lift

There is no way to interchange the front & rear suspension spacers. Physically impossible.

Ok, so you guys are saying I might only have a 2 inch spacer on back yielding a 2.5-3 inch lift? I have measured from mid rim to fender in the back its 23.5 inches and front is 22 inches. I was told to do this after talking with toytec. As you can see the car still isn't level. I've attached an image of my car

Looks fine. You can't put the kit on backwards. Doesn't look level though, maybe you have some fj coils on the back as well?

I have 1.5 in front should I swap them out for a 2inch to level it? Can I do the coils with the XREAS suspension I know I'm limited with that.

You can't go higher than a 1.5 in spacer up front without changing your uca's. I would imagine you have a day star 3" front which would be a 1.5" spacer and a 2" spacer in the rear. But the front does look low for some reason. I wonder what condition your xreas system is in, could be the issue. Can't really say for sure without looking at it.

Rear springs could have been replaced with newer ones. This is just one possibility on why its not perfectly level.

I have an appt to get it checked out this week to get it in a shop and have someone look at it. I'm not a car guy so I always ask

Would it be worth it to go ahead get rid of the xreas system and get some bilstein shocks in there? I have 110,000 on it now pretty sure the back shocks are starting to go bad.

As everyone else has already chimed in, the spacer kit IS INSTALLED CORRECTLY. The rear spacers LOOK thicker than the front. Your "rake" looks normal for a high mileage 4th gen with a spacer kit. You see, the problem that you are having is that your front coils ARE SAGGING. And, NO, you cannot swap out the front coils without disassembling the XREAS system. About the only thing that you can do, without replacing the entire front suspension system, is remove the rear spacers to level your truck out, or leave it as is, until you have enough $$ to upgrade your suspension.

For everyone with xreas suspension. How much did it cost you to get taken out? I've heard toyota has to do it because of the tools needed. Instead of spacers I may upgrade to the bilstein 3 inch suspension lift. Which I believe is just under 1000$

You CAN swap the front coils while keeping the XREAS system intact... I did it myself. I ran FJ coils with 1/2" Toytec spacers up front and FJ coils in the rear for a 2/1 lift that sat pretty level. This is how it sat...

With your XREAS having that many miles, it would be a good time to go with the Bilsteins... the XREAS shocks are pretty short anyway, especially the rear so raising it really doesn't leave much down-travel. I used to lift one or the other rear tire off the ground constantly while off-roading. By the way, the FJ coils were a nice upgrade for the money.
