Exactly, and that is why I thought I would use this wonderful resource.
I enjoy being helpful to people, but if you have to be bitter just because someone asks a question you feel has been covered, take a break for a while and then come back with a better attitude etc... No need to piss vinegar all over the place.

Hopefully the person that makes all the neg comments works in a toll booth instead of a customer service type position;)

There are many ways I could have found an answer, I could have just looked up a Lexus dealer and asked a sales person etc....

I agree, no harm no foul. But if you've been on the forum for a while it gets a bit tedious to see the same questions asked all the time or questions with what are thought to be obvious answers. Not trying to be rude at all. And, I think you'll find that this place is pretty easy on people asking questions. Go hang out on some other car forums and see the barbecuing people absorb.

I have long wanted to do a 470 project truck, since there are so many nice ones here in Coloradostan.

I don't think there is anything official that the GX is being eliminated, just speculation. Perhaps I am wrong...
 
The search nazis get a little carried away. It's like they think it's "their" forum. Kinda pathetic because it really takes away from the forum...even though they "claim" it clutters it up. Most other forums I've experienced are more friendly and willing to answer no matter what they think about the question. Isn't that what a forum is all about...sharing information after all.

I understand.
At first I was a little surprised by the "trailer park" tone that was coming from some members, however I think it is a small but vocal minority.
Most on here are very nice and helpful.
Still a bit surprising since these vehicles are almost 50k.

Oh and no offense to anyone who happens to live in a trailer park;)

5th Gen 4runners ,GX460's,Prados and more are built in Tahara with the same LC J150 platform.
Pre 2010's ,like 4th Gens and GX470's were built on the older J120 platforms.New stronger 8.2 rear diffs,improved strengthened frames and redesigned front LCA's are some of the main differences that I know of with the J150 update........ Hopefully it doesn't spell the end of the full frame on the 4Runners as they are built on the same assembly lines but I wouldn't bet on it!The 6th Gen could vary well be a unibody for 2017 .
