Thanks guys! It is the single biggest thing i've done to date to change the look of the truck. Needless to say, these 285s ride a little different than the tiny 265/70 Highway tires. Nothing like the slow, rolling vibrations from MT...these sing a little too but I expected that.

Maybe I need to go get fj wheels, looks good dude.

I actually had a set of FJ wheels a few months ago but ended up selling them. I really didn't like the look with the highway tires, they just didn't flow well. However, with these MTs, they looks great. It will also yield more offset...and more rubbing.

Thanks man! I rub slightly on the mud flaps but not on the body mount or anything. You might have to trim slightly. Good luck, you can see more pics in my build thread etc too.

Little sneak peak....

1" BORA wheel spacers w/ +15mm FJ wheels...effective offset of 40mm or 1.5" spacers. RUB...removed mud flaps, fender liner moved forward, and trim small piece on inside fender.

Correct, I was in a hurry when I typed that and never bothered to revise it. It meant to say it was -40mm (same thing as -10mm)from factory or same as offset when running 1.5" spacers.

Thanks momo! It is a little more "extreme" than I had in mind but I love it. I always thought this wide of a stance would be too much but it looks amazing in person. Granted the STTs aren't the wisest choice for my driving style but i'm willing to make the sacrifice for now. I averaged around 16.5-17 MPG with mixed highway/interstate driving...not too bad.

You should be able to get 40,000+ miles out of the STT's judging by guys running them on full size rigs get 30-40,000 reportedly.

Dawg4Runner is running a perkins performance rack. I believe he has a website (google perkins performance) but you will have to email Jason Perkins if you're interested. I don't think he has stuff 'for sale' on his site like some places.

Darkie3495 and Javelin (and probably some others) also have the same rack.

Another main factor in my decision to get these is the fact that I live ~10 miles from work, so while I do drive it a lot, it isn't a lot at one time.

You should be able to get 40,000+ miles out of the STT's judging by guys running them on full size rigs get 30-40,000 reportedly.

I'm definitely hoping for 45,000+ with good rotation intervals. I've read a few reports of lighter trucks getting 55,000 miles of usable tread out of these but i'm not holding my breath. I wonder how they would be If I had them siped, should reduce heat buildup in theory without chunking if done correctly. Oh well...just thinking out loud.

Were you referring to this Dawg? If so, the rack was built by Perkins Performance.
