Lift and Tire Central (pics)... Post 'em Up!

Depending on the coils you use the 275's maybe your best bet I am on the edge with the 285's and I got more lift from the FJ coils than expected. I'm sure my suspension was sagging before I started all them mods and I don't have much weight rocking the V6 and no heavy front bumper. I went up about 4 in front and 3 in back. My 255 Mud rubbed just a tinny bit stock. Then adding the 1.25 wheels spacer with FJ rims made the 255's rub badly on the front fenders(no lift), Then with 285's and my lift the front was rubbing so bad I had to cut the plastic just to get home from the tire shop and then cut some more, But it's just plastic and you can't tell unless you really know what to look for. The bigger issues would be the body mounts behind the front tires I'm very close to them but haven't had a problem yet not to say I won't? And a body lift won't help that part.
So get you lift on and do your homework before you go and get bigger tires.eace:

Thanks so much for the input.... After the lift I'll probably stick with 275's. The 285's look great but I want to minimize road noise and any wander on the highways.

I finally get to post on here!! Yesterday I got my 2.5/1.5 daystar kit and 1.25'' Spidertrax spacers! The Spidertrax really made the lift perfect. No tire rub, but I have Michelin MS2s 270/65/17 if I'm not mistaken.

I AM IN LOVE!!

Next up: either new Trail Edition wheels or the very similar FJ wheels and some sort of grille mod, maybe a skid plate or light bar! Too many options...

Lookin good. From the looks of it you got 265/65/17 tires. Could be wrong though. Did you get the Easy Install Daystar spacer lift?

@mrrab, Thanks man!! Yes they actually are 265s... that's what happens to my brain when all I do is study science...

@blue4run, man those wheels are sick! I definitely can't wait to get some for my SE!!!

Update: I'm am still loving my lift and driven a couple hundred miles, even in our barn pasture and no rubbing that I can hear/feel yet, but that's probably bc I still have stock size tires!

Installed FJ Coils /5100's front set at 1.75" Final measurements leave 0.5" rake rear to front almost dead level. I love it.

Let me think... NEVER!! Even if Miles did nothing to change our game plan for the Championship and most obviously Saban did, but I'm no fair weather fan! and I know it's off topic, but I really don't understand why we are so good (our defense wins games) and we cannot, to save our lives, recruits a QB! Hopefully our new one, Mettenburger kills it this coming year! We will have to meet up for a game sometime when we play y'all in Tuscaloosa again! mAybe by then my 4Runner will have a few more mods and your awesome one won't embarrass mine!

BTW... I'm totally digging your grille mod, and hope to be able to try and build one soon. We could make a deal though... you make me one and I'll put on a Bama tag. :naughty: (Actually i'd never do that, but seriously I would pay you to make me a grille like yours!!)

You can order it powder coated white directly from Schrockworks. Mark(Overland Warehouse) had SW powder coat his front bumper and sliders white and they both still look great.

Still have a few months worth of tread on these tires, Bridgestone Dueler A/Ts 265/65/17. I'll be upgrading to BFG AT 275/70/17 by next winter.

Nice! I like! Glad you posted pics. As you can see from my sig. I have your 4Runner and was curious exactly what a Daystar 2.5/1.5 lift would look like.

Looks fine with the stock tires, but 275/70/17's will be much better.

Look forward to eventually installing my Daystar one of these days.

Installed my Toytec Superflex rear coils and moved my 5100's to the top setting. Then got my 285/70-17 Goodyear Duratrac's on. Super stoked on the new stance and love these tires.

so happy to see your ride. my 2005 v8 is stock. been considering a lift for about a month now. really want to get my hands on some duratracs once my revos wear down. could be a while tho as the revos are the best a/t tire i've ever had. still look new after 2 years.

I just used plasti-dip, that stuff is awesome. Discount Tire nicked up my wheels when installing the Duratracs but it's easy to refinish with some more plasti-dip. I'm actually going to redo them when I have some time this summer but I'm more than happy with how well they've held up. Did the badges with plasti-dip as well.

Then I have a question for you, would there be any flaw or benefit of having the whole FJ setup with the Daystar spacers? like any concerns of angles or extra parts you would need...
