Lift and Tire Central (pics)... Post 'em Up!

Finally got my spacer lift on, Daystar 2.5/1.5. Tires BFG AT TKO 265/70R17 are coming tomorrow plus an alignment. Still to do Spidertrax wheel spacers.

i run the same size tire as you plan on running with your lift on my stock rig with no rubbing

Just finish install my new set of rims, moto metal and due to size of the rims (17x9, BS: 4.5, OS: -12mm) I'm rubbing in the front with 265/70/17 tires and 5.5" of lifts, can't decide if I should trim it off, or go back with the stock rims but for now my tmps lights are on.

NOOB LIft Question

I have searched and not found an answer to my question. Please help and forgive if it is a stupid question...

2003 Limited 4.0L V6: I'm looking at the Daystar 2.5/1.5 lift, How much does this combo actually raise the highest point on the roof rack? I still want to be able to use my garage and there isn't a lot of excess clearance now. The lift would be the only change. I currently run 265/70/17 and plan to keep that size.

I would assume the real height change would be ~2 inches but want to be sure.

I'd give yourself extra room and assume that the 2.5 spacer will lift your nose 3" and the rear 2". Measure the total clearance you have in your garage, and then check your roof racks and add the approximate lift to see if you will have enough room in your garage. Hope that helps!

Posted some of these in my build thread but I used this tire and lift sticky as a giude when doing my homework so figured id add pics here for anyone looking.

Wheels are Ultra Gauntlet 18x9 5.47back space 12mm offset.
Tires are Goodyear Duratrac 275x65x18
Lift is Toytec 3/2 spacer/springs with kyb gas shocks.

Those wheels and tires look great. I am considering the same tires and size and I noticed you removed your front and rear mud flaps. Did you need to remove both due to rubbing? Did you need to trim the front fender as well? I have a little less lift with the DS 2.5/1.5, so I am just trying to get a feeling of how much rubbing/trimming to expect. Thanks.

Thanks. Yeah had to remove the rear flaps and trim the inside wheel fender do to rubbing. Doing so I have zero rubbing now. I would suspect if your on a little less lift you will need to do the same. Keep us posted.

275/65/18 BFG ATs

Moved front fender liners forward, minor trimming on edge of bumper, kept front flaps on after cutting the body mount protrusion area of the flap. Tires did little to change the ride. Very happy, climbs like a beast.

I can vouch for that!!! Those pics don't do this justice at all....those climbs are much worse than it looks.

To be honest they are Definetly different from the stock tires iv been driving for last years. I'm still getting used to truck after lift / tires. When truck was stock I def drove it aggressively you could say. Not afraid to hit the gas. I do a lot of highway driving and upstate where I am you can do 80 / 85 no problem. The tires feel different. They have a hum but feel smooth. I can feel the weight of the tires now. Takes more power to get up hills and truck just feels heavy. There not bad on highway / daily commute but wouldn't exactly call them a regular everyday tire. Not complaining bc they look totally bada** and they were exactly what I was looking for in a tire. I'm kinda new at the truck / big tire thing as iv always been into sports cars and that's totaly diff. For never seeing / testing these tires before getting them I am happy. Will report in later after offload fun.
