Well,
I'm trying to bite the bullet on a set of tires so I can pass inspection by the end of November. Working with a 2007 Limited V8 4WD all stock for now and putting a lift. I currently have a great offer on a set of 275/70/18 Duratracs and want to know if they will need any trimming or spacer addition. Ive looked around quite a bit and it looks like folks are doing 275/65/18 with no issues. What are my options for the specific limited 18" wheels without having to cut or remove any body moldings? Are spidertrax a must in all cases or only when tires are getting to wide (ie <275 mm width)?

I know, right?! These are new caps! It's funny...the wheels went into the powder coater with original hub caps on, but they came out without 'em! What kind of black magic were they doing?!
For real though, I'm going to see how black plasti-dip looks on the caps. I just hope the matte finish doesn't clash with the shinier PC on the wheels.

[MENTION=66906]Dylan[/MENTION] It's the powder coat process. After the wheels get coated they bake them for a while at a pretty high temp to finish the process. I believe it makes the charged paint particles "stick" Center caps usually don't make the heat...don't quote me though i'm not a painter by a long shot.
P.S. Fellow KC guy here love your Avitar!!! Not sure if your ever interested in hitting the trails around here but I'm looking at going soon.

LOL....I was kidding, that was the joke. Put some plastic in with the metal...only the metal survives. I simply haven't gotten around to painting the caps.
Does Ferris Bueller actually mention 4runners? lol

With 275/70/18's you'll need a 3/2 lift...and a body mount chop. Otherwise expect rubbing.

SO I have a question.... I need new tires for my newly purchased '08 Sport Edition V8 4runner. I have already added a Daystar 2.5/1.5" spacer lift, and have purchased 1.25" spidertrax, though I have not yet had them installed. My wheels are 17" rims.
My question is... What are the largest tires possible I can add without doing any further modifications? I looked up tire sizes and have done research but I'm still confused as to which tires can fit what. As soon as I thought I had it figured out I find out there is some other parameter or variable I've missed that can have influence on what tires I need. In layman's terms, .. wtf do I do? I currently have p265/65r17 "Toyo Open Country" tires that came with it when I purchased. I would like some nice A/T tires (BFG T/A KO2, Nitto Graplers, etc) to add on, but do tread and brand of tire make a difference when deciding what to get? Is there a thread that can answer all my questions? Will someone take pity on me? Thank you kind sirs

But if I currently have 265/65r17's on it, will 255's fit? I thought fits had to be exact for the wheels?

255/75/17 will fit with minimal rubbing on the 2.5/1.5. once you add the wheel spacers and move the wheel/tire outward, it will more than likely contact the fender well and mudflap more

So by that chart and my 2.5/1.5" lift - 265/70r17's shouldn't be a problem, - but what about when I add my 1.25" spidertrax?? Any help is appreciated. Thank you guys.
