Lift and Tire Central (pics)... Post 'em Up!

I have these tires in a 255/75R17 and I don't notice any road noise from them. Mind you I run studded winters and the noise on those don't even bother me. as far as fuel economy I did a lift and the tires are 32" not 30.6" so it did go down. I get about 520kms highway to a tank. Somewhere thereabouts anyways

Same here, stock size to 3"+ lift with KO2's in 255/75/17, no noise, was hoping the skinnies would save me MPG v. wider. Had to remove mudflats and move front fender liners forward b/c of tire rub, but that's probably/mostly due to 1.25" wheel spacers to push those skinnies out.

And BTW they don't look skinny, I was hesitant about the size being used to fat "muddin'" tires in KY but they're perfect. Main reason I went for that size is because BFG T/A KO2's come in C-load, did not want E-load 10-ply.

255/80r/17's and 3.5in lift

OME 886/898 springs 1/4 front poly spacers, bilstein 5100's, rear sway connectors from 2nd gen, only rubs the front mud flaps which I'll take off soon. camber and toe aligned fine with stock uca, loss of caster, but at least tires won't wear unevenly.

:help: I GIVE UP! I don't know why my pics load up all funky on the forum!! SO you get to see them this way!! Finally got my 255x80x17 Mastercraft Courser CXT tires wrapped around a set of Method Racing MV wheels.. I love how they hardly stick out from the fenders actually almost flush. I love the tall skinny look!

What are your guys opinions on 17" or 18" wheels? Would the 17" wheel be a better wheel to be using for wheeling with?

I have limited t4r, so I have the 18" wheels.. So i'm just wondering..

How does everyone like the Cooper Discover AT3s? Looking for a 255/75/17 tire that will be better than my current Toyo ATII....Any suggestions and advice? I do not need an E rated tire...

Well I just got mine on two weeks ago and have only driven 100 miles on them. The day my OME lift and tires were done I drove home 30 miles in the pouring rain and they felt great, even at 70 mph. They feel really good on dry pavement also and ride as nice as the Michelins I replaced them with. Very quiet too.

The Toyo AT/2's were my second choice. Glad to hear your feedback on them.

BTW, my Discoverer AT/3's are SUV/passenger rated, not truck rated. I didn't want/need an E-rated tire either.

Cool, thanks for the info. Like I said it looks great! I'm leaning towards this lift when the time comes. For now I did the spacers. Did you change out your UCA's?

Side notes: Do you have any grease coming out of the CV boots? I had the grease issue from my CV boots after my little lift. Since you're in Jersey, I can hook you up with some of the awesome clamps I bought from McMaster Carr in the event you do see some grease oozing out the side. I removed the factory clamps, and installed the MC clamps. Cleared the problem right up.

I didn't change out my UCA's. Wasn't advised that I needed to. I think the guys who did my lift mentioned some small amount of grease coming out of one of the CV boots. I don't recall specifically. But yes, please let me know about the MC clamps. :thumb3:

Definitely my favorite wheels from Toyota. I could'nt wait to find them though. and got these Method MV wheels instead.

GOT 'EM!!!

So incredibly pleased with how they look. I really like that there's no lip on the outer edge so the guys at the Discount Tire can't hammer weights on them. I've seen them accidentally miss and hit my old rims.

Please ignore the pollen, dirt and missing "t" from the driver's side as I'm currently driving a "Spor Edition"... new emblems on the way!
