Lift and Tire Central (pics)... Post 'em Up!

i am very new to upgrading my 4Runner. Any recommendations on different lift kits. I would like about 2" of lift but also the vehicle to be level.. Also, an idea of pricing would be nice so i don't get screwed over. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I agree with Momo. I got a front spacer to level out the front this past summer and by February I had ordered a full lift kit with shocks and springs. Putting that much money into upgrades at once scared me but after the fact, I have never looked back. It’s a huge upgrade from my spacer and XREAS. I would recommend the Wheeler’s T1/T12 springs with Bilstein 5100 shocks and struts if you’re on a budget. Should come out to around $700-$750 depending on if you get the trim packer and 1/4” spacer to accommodate for lean

Tires got delivered today, mounted them right away!

They look great! I can’t wait till these BFG’s wear out so i can get mine.

Hodgepodge lift

Specs: 2003 2WD V8

Front: 22 3/4” hub to fender
OME 884
Bilstein 5100 (0”)
1/4” driver side spacer

Rear: 23” hub to fender
Wheeler’s T12
Bilstein 5100
10mm driver side trim packer

Stock wheels with 265/70/17 BFG Rugged Terrains, but looking to upgrade to 285/70/17 in the fall

I really love this compared to the XREAS and spacers I had. It rides so nice now and way less nose dive when braking. I’m not sure about body roll if I’m being honest though

I have a 2003 sport edition v8 that currently has 5100s on all corners, the front are on the third notch up and i still have 1 setting left, it has a slight rake still how well does your suspension work, I'm either moving the snap ring to the max setting or going with different front coil springs

Switching to this set up is such a night and day difference. My family rode in it a week after I installed everything and they said it rides very smooth and that they couldn’t even feel the bumps in the road at all

Thanks! Heres a better photo. Took off the running boards last night.

I noticed today even with the Bilstein suggest level to comp for lean. My drive side still has a slight lean.

those are the ones!

*Sigh. I only found out about those after I bought my ome kit. I'm super happy with the twenty minutes I put in them after my alignment today, but I'm healthy if those metal techs. It seems like those should be there standard aftermarket springs everyone aspires to be. OEM should take note!

Anything at all for the cons column? Anything obscure for the pros column?

i don't really have any cons about it, i like the fact they have a lh and rh spring to compensate for the lean. last time i measured from side to side they were pretty much even. I also have coilovers for the front so i have the d/s preloaded a little bit more, the front sits even side to side as well. Only thing i might change in the future is to relocate the upper rear shock mount and regain a little uptravel and run shorter rear bumpstops. Thats not really a big deal though.

I added another wheel, so might as well post, right?? :)

Ever get pulled over for having your plate covered? Looks like it would be an issue.

Maybe that's a Lambo cop car?

Haven’t been pulled over.... yet. Hahaha.
I’m definitely going to move it but need to figure out where. I’ll probably just use zip ties before i road trip this weekend.

I just drilled and tapped 2 holes on my swingout tube. Sorta ghetto but it works. Still haven't put a light on it so I'm a bit conscientious of that when driving at night.

You're running out of room back there that's for sure...

Finally did something new!

Went from pro comp 18x9 with 265/60/18 bfg ko2's to SCS 17x8.5 with 265/70/17 falken wildpeak a/t3w.

Good weight saving and better look with the new setup. I had to chop a bunch of inner fender liner off and take the mudflaps off.
Also going from a E rated tire to a XL is way better ride quality.

I moved from CO to CA so that was also a factor in getting a different load tire (just don't have many wheeling spots around me) so I went with something smoother.
And much less expensive too lol.
