Will throw up pics soon, but just got back my post-lift lift.

i had the stock springs up front with bilstein 5100s at max 2.5" lift.

the rears i've come to learn are OME 895s, but they come in two sizes: 1.5" and 2".

so all this time i've been driving around happily with a 2.5"/2" setup which produced enough rake for me to grow to not like it.

so finally i purchased the toytec lift kit which is essentially their ultimate lift kit front so i can get to the popular 3/2 setup which i think has just a touch of rake to make it visually ideal. since i already had the 5100s, i just got everything but the shocks (went with the silver springs to make it more discrete v. red). turns out the springs they use are eibachs.

i drove home today with the 3/2 and while the front lift is subtle, i'm pleased.

the truck definitely dives and leans a bit less than with the stock springs. just an incremental change that i'm pleased with. zero noise just like b4.

update with pics - final mod will be sport hood OEM perfect

i'm excited to finally get the truck setup exactly the way i want it. i ordered the parts today at the dealership. gotta give cred where cred's due since dealerships usually have a bad rep.

bellevue toyota's been awesome for me. the total for all the hood parts came to about $600-700 with sales tax. i had no idea that the actual bulge itself is a separate part. the hood itself is diff too so you can't just slap on the bulge on the limited hood.

the best part is, the dealership is going to deliver to the custom shop so i don't have to worry about picking it up with a pickup truck or anything which would be a huge time waste (i travel quite a bit for work).


i should have it all done late next week. i'll take some proper camera pics once it's all done and post 'em up.

Waited for a while on this one, I guess. I'm only 2WD, so I really just wanted to take a little bit of the rake out of the suspension and make it look a little better. It actually sits closer to level with just a hair of forward rake, my driveway is just sloping slightly down in the pictures and makes it look less level than it is.

Next up:
1.25" spacers and I'd LOVE some black-powder coated FJ wheels.

$50 / rim.

I was gonna do it myself, but just didnt have the time. Yelped a couple places and went with the one with the best reviews and didn't look back.

Funny thing is to get all 4 powder coated was the cost of all 4 of the rims for me. lol

My tires are rubbing on my bumper though dangit.

2.5/1.5 Daystar with preload spacer. Tires are Michelin LTX A/T2 275/65/18. XREAS preserved. Rides better than stock IMO. Took about 5-6 hours with 2 people.
