Lift and Tire Central (pics)... Post 'em Up!

I have a 2003 Toyota 4 Runner 4x4 SR5. I am getting ready to install a Truxx Lift and Level kit,3" in the front and 1.25" in the rear
with oem Rancho shocks front and back.
My question is..... I would like to put 285 75 R16 or (33's) on it with some new rims I have bought. I am not sure with the Truxx kit the tires will fit, it seems
like I will not have enough lower fender clearance or the tire is to large in dia.
Does any one have any thoughts on this?
some input would be greatly appreciated.

that truxxx lift should provide enough room for 285/75/16's or 285.70/17's or 285/65/18's. what size wheels are you going to get?

those are all just about the exact same size. which is about a 33'' tall tire. a lot of ppl with 3'' lifts are running these size tires. the thing that you will need to really check though is the back spacing of the rim. i think 4.5'' back spacing is about right to keep the tire off of the UCA (upper control arm)

you might end up having to take off the front mud flaps, but that shouldnt be a big deal.

255/70/17 Revo 2 on FJ cast iron steel wheels. love the backspacing on these wheels. wish the stock wheels sat this far out. i definitely need a lift now!

I believe some are, I would check toyota120.com for more info. There are a few guys there with lifted GXs. Maybe also clublexus.

turns out it's not so simple to lift the gx as it has more complex gizmos plus an air suspension in the rear so i can't simply transplant the toytec kit to the lexus, unfortunately. i just decided to keep it as is and just fit some bigger wheels/tires on it.

i miss the simplicity of the 4runner, but am appreciating all the xtras in the gx. i esp like the reclining rear seats!

miss the t4r community! clublexus is a snooze fest in comparison, but it makes sense and i'm completely OK with it.

just so i add some value here, i went with toyo open country ATs and I gotta say i'm real pleased with them compared to the gold standard BFG ATs. they're just as quiet and i think the tread looks better as it's chunkier overall. i think cheaper too.

Just got mine done yesterday:
-OME 885/895
-Diff. drop
-Swaybar relocate
-1.25" Spidertrax
-285/70/17 BFG Rugged Terrain

All done myself, feels pretty good. Love the setup. The rear is a little stiff, but once it settles it will be perfect

The first comment anyone said was that "it looks exactly the way its meant to". So true

Ive been debating on that. No running boards will make getting to the boards/skis difficult. Im really thinking about some sliders with some rear kickouts so i can destroy boulders and still get to the racks.

Stubbs sliders are the first thing on my list for the spring, followed closely by bud built skids! Its winter so wheeling gets put on hold and any extra time i have, i ride! I just got done waxing and tuning/de-tuning my boards, so its game on!! We just need some natural snow!

Amen to that! Sliders and skids are up next. As far as winter wheeling goes, i cant wait to romp through some snow.
