I am a girl first off, so bare with me lol. I have a titanium silver 2006 T4R SR5 4x4, which i love and I am wanting to upgrade the wheels and tires and put a lift on it. I have browesed through several posts but I am not finding the exact answers to my questions, so I figured I would start a new thread. Sorry if I am duplicating anything. I have been looking at the Burtman 3/2 Cornfed lift, and the Moto Metal 951s with BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A tires. My questions are first off, how hard is the lift to install. My dad and myself are pretty well mechanicly inclined, so I believe we could do it, but want to hear from someone who has done it as to how hard/easy it is. Second of all, is it a good lift, or would you recommed a different one. Third ?, what size, offset, and backspacing wheels would be sufficent for this lift and same for tires. I believe I would like to stay in the 17" wheels just because tires would be cheaper(I believe). Also, if anyone has a picture of a setup like this, please post it. I am pretty sure my mind is set in stone as to what I want, but it never hurts to see what all you guys/gals have done, I might like something even better. By the way I am from around the Hickory, NC area. :lookout:

The install is easy, I've done it several times and my only prior experience was an oil change. That's not a bad choice for a lift, also consider the Toytec 3/2, get whichever is cheaper.
Why do you want to lift? Is it for looks, performance, or both? How many miles? It may be a good time to replace the shocks as well.
At the bottom of the first post in the thread I listed above you'll find info on tire size. I'd suggest the 275/70/17 or 285/70/17 with a 3" lift. The 285 will require more trimming to fit and you'll notice a bigger hit in gas mileage/power..

i just installed a 3/2 toytec spacer lift on my runner this weekend ...it took me & a friend about 6 hours to do it ...(neither one of us are pro's) just took it to the hobby shop and dug in ...also there are threads on here if you look that pretty much provide a step by step ...i dont know much about offsets & rims ....im also going with the BFG A/T 285's and im going to have to trim my front bumper a bit to fit them ...getting my tires thursday so im waiting on pics ...enjoying my lift as is so far...good luck

What's your budget for the lift? I suggest replacing the shocks at that mileage. You have a ton of options, all depends on budget.

On a budget -OME (Old Man Emu). Their kits are like 700ish. Comes with everything and it rides great!
Or you could try locating some used bilstein 5100 shocks/FJ springs if 700 is out of your range.
IMO spacers are a waste of time unless you only need an inch to level your front end. If you actually want a lift save up and do it right.
There are plenty of things to go cheap on but a Lift is NOT one of them.

I kind of disagree with Javelin, if you want to keep the stock ride which is kinda nice on the freeway then a spacer is definitely the way to go again mostly for looks and a soft ride. I think it would be perfect for you and I love my daystar 2.5/1.5. However I'm getting more and more into the offroad scene and would like a little more. I'm leaning more towards the OME kit with maybe some bilsteins instead. But, it all depends on your budget and what you want. The daystar was cheap about 150 bucks... I'm still a grad student although I have a great job and got another kid coming in 2 days. So the truck is taking a back seat to new kiddos
