Lift or not to lift?

I have done a lot of mods to my Runner, but I have not yet lifted it. I installed Michelin Cross Terrains (awesome tires) in the stock size two years ago. They only have 14,000 miles on them and are like new.

Does a minor lift (1" up front only or 2" front and 1" rear) look good with stock size tires? I don't want to replace the rubber for a long while?

I lifted mine about 3 months ago (daystar 2.5/1.5) and I'm still using my stock size tires and it looks fine. I'm going to be upsizing to 256/70/17 when I need a new set but for now it works.

until u need new tires, i would go with just a 1/2 thick spacer up front (1 in. lift) then if u feel u need/want more down the road when ya get new tires, maybe 265/70 size, u can just install FJ springs at the same time. or do it now if u want 1 & 1/2 up front & maybe 1/2 rear if u dont have the bags.

I lifted mine because I needed more clearance in the desert. If you do not off road then you might as well leave it alone. You will get less MPG once you lift it. Even a leveling kit takes the slight rake designed to improve aroedynamics out of it. I wish I could raise or lower mine on demand.

A small lift will go unnoticed. I've got 1.5" lift in the front, combined with 255/75/17 AT tires (previously had stock size Bridgestones) and I'm getting better gas mileage now than before, plus it looks a heck of a lot better. I'd advise a small spacer up front, something like a 1/2" thick one (1" lift).
