lift question

If you lift your truck, do you need a longer pan hard bar or sway bar links to compensate?

I can't find anything else wrong with my rig, but the rear feels like it's swaying/rolling a lot and hitting any bump extra hard. I've had three sets of eyes on it and nothing else seems to be amiss.

Some say yes, some say no. With a larger lift, the stock panhard length and/or mounting points can pull the axle slightly out of alignment.

It feels like that might be the case. Any recommendations? I've seen some adjustable pan hard bars out there. Are these worth looking in to, in your opinion?

+1 on @eimkieth's brackets. They will correct that side to side motion and help body roll slightly too. No need for the adjustable panhard bar.
Extended sway bar links will make swaybar function properly and give you a more comfortable ride.

It's a weld on bracket that's half the price of an adjustable panhard. Maintains the correct geometry of the panhard and reuses the factory bar. Most people from now on will be using eimkeith correction kit as opposed to buying an adjustable.

I didn't mean to come off as negative toward the weld-on. Simply meant that if you don't have that skill, someone that welds will be required.

Dont know where you at for lift. I put 906's on mine and now it measures center of hub to fender 22". I measured before and after with not even a measurable change....as in EXACTLY THE SAME.

You didn't. It's a valid point for the OP to consider. I was joint pointing out it is a better option IMO then an adjustable. I still don't have one and am running the stock panhard with 3.5 of lift in the rear. I need to order one up soon though.

We have access to a decent shop, but welding is beyond both our abilities, and the wives aren't down for us springing for a welder anyway. So all my welding needs are done by hired guns.

That being said, with the other work I need done, this PCK might be the best solution to the problem. I had NO CLUE these were out there, so a big thanks for pointing them out!

Do you "need" one? NO.... Depending on the amount you're wheeling it, you may never need one, I mean if you wheel it every weekend, you should get one. What happens when you lift it and you flex out the rear end, its possible the driveshaft will rub the gas tank skid. Wont hurt anything, I wheeled hard every weekend for about 5 years zero issues other then a curved rounded spot on the stock gas tank skid where the yoke would rub the stock skid.
I did get the Toytec bracket later, I went with a bolt on thinking if I sell the rig, a bolt on is easier to back to stock over the weld on.
Hope this makes sense and helps

You can shear your grease zerk off the driveshaft slip doing this. Ask me how I know...

Excellent info, thanks. Would the weld on brackets by eimkeith be considered a panhard drop bracket or a panhard lift? Not positive where it falls in the pro/con list there.

Well if we read the 1st post of the panhard correction kit thread we find this:

These are weld-on bracket kits (one Panhard Lift Bracket and one Panhard Drop Bracket) to correct the angle of the panhard bar on 2-4.5" lifts, designed in response to a thread on T4R.org..

So it's both. That's what makes it so good. It truly returns the panhard to the factory geometry. eimkeith, I swear I'm ordering one soon. lol
