Lift question

I just got a Daystar 2.5" susp. lift and I'm looking into getting some new tires, not really bigger but more aggressive looking.

I've tried reading the threads about lifts but I'm really not good at understanding tires and all that go along with them.

Basically I just want to know if I put the lift on, will it look stupid with my basic set up and if I do end up getting other tires soon, if I get the same size but more aggressive, will it look decent? Or do I really need to get bigger tires to go with the lift?

If your just doing an 1-2" then stock tires will look fine, but since your going with 2.5" your starting to get in the range where stock tires look out of place.

I look into going with a 285 or at least 275.

Ha! I knew someone would disagree soon.

Laureena23, there are 1000's of opinions out there on what looks good and what doesn't. Even if what you end up with makes you all giddy with excitement, there will be someone out there who will cringe at the site of it.
Put the lift on and decide then. If you do think the stock tires look too small, don't worry about driving around for a while before you upgrade, no one will care. 95% of the motoring public don't look at other cars on the road anyway.
Go for a 265/75R16 tire in a M/T or A/T tread and it will look great (IMHO). 285's will cause you more hassles than you need (rubbing, fuel econ, power, etc) if you're not looking for some serious wheeling mods.

Thanks! I just wanted some advice because I know nothing about tires.

I'll put the lift on, see what it looks like and go from there. Plus, my bday is in May so maybe my parents will go along with getting the tires for me..lol

how old are you ( not in a creepy way). i would get 275/ 70's no doubt. post a pic of your runner! and definatly go with an M/T tread.

I'm 23. My boyfriend and I just bought a house so I'm trying to do as much as I can with my Runner for a decent price, while I still can..lol

Very nice. Looks alot like mine. I think we are both putting the same lift on as well. Post pics when yours is on! I'm sticking with my 15's, although, I'll probably put 31/32's on.
