Lift Question

Did a search but couldn't find the answer I needed.
I have a stock 1999 SR5 2WD, just upgraded from 15" to 16" rims. Put some 265/70-16's on. I would like to give it a little lift for 2 reasons. 1st to make it look better, and 2nd when I go camping and load it down. I just want to do spacers and would like to know the biggest lift without having to do struts. I saw 1" and 1.5", and as big as 2.5". Thanks :hatsoff:

so you are talking about just doing the back of the car?

cuz spacers for the front would still require pulling the struts, possibly requiring a different top plate with longer bolts...

I dont see how you do the front without messing with the struts, your easiest solution is to buy the adjustable coilovers from toytec and its a simple swap out/in for the strut...

maybe the toytec spacers will work without taking apart anything on the strut?? I dont know...

I know for sure the skyjacker spacers required the struts to be disassembled

toytec spacers require you to compress the springs..... daystars i beleive just sit on top of the stock struts..

I would recommend buying some toytec coilovers, and some 891 coils with a lift shock in the rear......better to do it right once, than to have to do it again later......

I can 2nd that... :iagree:

I thought the same thing when i went and bought skyjacker spacers... I just wanted it to look a little nicer and be a little taller for offroad camping trips etc.
took me from the end of June to august to decide to do the toytec coilovers

I will say that rather than OME go with LC coils, from what Ive read, they do better with more weight, and then get some lifted shocks for the rear.

Let me go ahead and second that, Katy is awesome and gets you the right stuff! I'm now running the LC's she got for me and some Rancho LC shocks I got from Amazon.com for under 80 bucks. Rides nice!
