Lift, Rims/tires, Headlights on the way!

So the wife just authorized my purchases for probably the remainder of the year, but I just ordered the Toytec Ultimate lift, Light Weight Upper control Arms, Ultra Glauntlet 18x9, Nitto trail grappler 285x65x18, and Andy tells me my lights should be shipped tomorrow, FX-R retrofit with 5k bulbs. Just got done wrapping all the chrome in Carbon Fiber 3m Dinoc, and installed my LED upgrade thanks to So_LED. So i would say its a pretty good start! I forgot to take pictures of it before i started to modify it, so theres no Stock pics, but after next weekend I will post the results up!

Here's what Andy sent me today on my lights! Looks great, cant wait for him to seal it up and ship it out!

Maybe I'm just re****ed but isn't the fxr bi Xeon projector come with both hi and low? If not apparently I'm rolling with just lows, lol

Yes the projector has a hi and low beam. But you need to tell whoever is doing the lights that they need to modify that shroud. The Gatling gun shroud doesn't fit the projector without modification. The lens of the projector should sit flush with the shroud, not set back like in your pic.
 
The projector looks to have the TRS shroud-centric ring. Any disadvantage to having it not sit flush with lens? By the pic, I wouldn't think the output would be affected.

Its being done by Andy at TRS, I will email him to make sure its fixed, just hope he didnt ship them this morning if thats the case.... what will it effect the pattern?
 
it probably won't effect the output, but it's not the way it's supposed to look, and if I were paying for this I would want it perfect. I originally got these shrouds for mine and wasn't happy. I called TRS and they said they never actually test fit that shroud on the new projector. He went and grabbed one and tried to put it on, and said "yep, you're right, it doesn't fit." I could have modified it, but I figured I was doing enough work for these lights and just wanted a shroud that fit. I did inform everyone of this here
 
How are you guys dealing with the wiring for the hi/lo? Is there a harness that plugs into the 9005 (high beam bulb) that goes to your projector?

oh, and I didn't wire the projector hi...yet. Right now I'm just using my stock hi, but to be honest I don't know how much it will be used. the new lights seem to be powerful enough on low.

I'm going to call Andy right now and ask him... I just assumed it to be plug and play, but my last kit wasn't Bi-Xenon so ill find out and post up, And Jesse thanks for the heads up, I'm going to tell him to switch it to the Appollo Shrouds, hes got to be getting tired of me calling and emailing him, but then again, they have been there for a little over two weeks now, and initially he told me it would be a 5-7 day turn around. But I do understand he is a one man show and with all the money I'm saving going through him ($350) for labor, as opposed to ($750) through Caesar at lightwerks i can deal with it!
 
Just got off the phone with with Andy, he said it will not effect the cutoff, or light output at all, its just a little sunk in. I like how it looks and if it doesn't effect the mechanics of anythign im good with it, i think it looks awesome my self!
 
whelp, that's you call. I just hope he didn't sway your opinion because he's already fixed the shroud to the ring and doesn't want to rip it off, or sealed the lights and doesn't want to open them back up. just so you're 100% sure, your projector will sit further back than almost any one I've ever seen. I wanted to be sure mine looked right because the lens is damn sexy and deserves to be as visible as possible. but your lights, your call. :cheers:
 
Absolutley Jeesse, I appreciate you giving me all the info and material so i could make the decision! I really do love this forum! I guess next I should start a build thread next, but that will come after the Snirt Run this weekend! You have a 4wheeler Jesse? Ive seen alot of other traffic on my TRX450r forum I'm apart of that shows alot of guys comming from PA and lower NY for the Snirt run (Snow-Dirt). Although the lack of snow this year, it should be called the dirt run.
 
nah, I got rid of mine a few years ago :cry2: i wasn't riding as much, got rid of the Tacoma etc. I miss it though
