lift /spacer kits vs highway performance?

This has probably been hashed and rehashed, but here goes...

To those with lifts, I have an 05 sport 4x4, and i'm looking at lift kits...but I was curious if it affects braking and various road performance issues?

I love the way they look, but i was wondering what you all think...

My Daystar lift and BFG all terrains were done at the same time. In my opinion the lift did not really affect anything. Still handles and rides the same. The BFg tires are heavier and taller so this affected the brakes a little. I did lose approx. 1.5 mpg in the process, probably a combination of the lift and the tires. This was a very good mod for me because I now have more ground clearance off roading and more puncture resistant tires in the rocks. This is my wifes daily driver and she does not complain about it. If it was noticable I would never here the end of it.

My 2/1 Cornfed lift didn't affect ride quality that much. The slightly stiffer ride is actually the way I think the 4Runner should be stock. Highway performance is the same.

Thanks, but a couple more questions...

Do you like the CF 2/1 or if you had another chance, would you go with the CF 3/2?

Oh, and did you do the install or did you go to a shop?

I'm very happy with the 2/1 and wouldn't go to the 3/2 unless you are putting on tires that need that extra space. I had a shop do the install and alignment. Click on the Goodyear SilentArmor link in my signature for what it looks like with 265/70 17s after the lift was installed.
