Lift to match 265/70/17 AT’s

What would be the recommended max lift height for the front and max lift height for the rear that somebody could run with 265/70/17 AT tires and it not look dorky? I just got these tires not even two months ago so I will NOT be switching tires anytime soon. I have looked around the suspension/lift/tires thread a ton but haven’t found quite what I’m looking for. I will be replacing my shocks/struts and springs all around within the next few months and would love to raise it some. I currently have it leveled with no modifications in the rear.

Money is somewhat tight, so only one project for a few months...should I first put wheel spacers for a better stance then add the lift a few months later or lift first then add wheel spacers a few months later?

Thanks,

Cole

As that tire size is only a wee bit bigger than stock, the ideal lift you would do at this point would be a leveling kit (as many of us here do). This would raise your front 2.5", and the rear about 1.5" or so. This would look pretty good with that tire size.

Check out http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/102272-4th-gen-suspension-options-faq.html

the bottom of that main post has tire size configurations for different lifts. I had the level kit and the 265/70/17s BFG TKOs and they fit with minor rubbing.

Quite a few people have done the 5100/wheelers T1/T12 lift which looks great with that tire size. It gives you about 2.5 in the front and 1.5 in the rear. It's the same lift I plan on doing soon as my tires are also 265/70/17. Check out Mr Pinks build.

I run 265/70/17's on 5100's and FJ rear springs. You will need to trim your inner fenders or heat and roll, you may have a little rub in steer. Especially in a moving with flex kind of situation.

The second pic is 285-70-17 w/ an 8.5" rim with a -10 offset. Needs more lift and work to tuck these. Trimming, etc... My next project.

I actually already have had the 265/70/17 tires on for a little over a month and I get away with only rubbing at full lock in reverse. My plan is to do FJ springs with Bilstein 5100’s in the spring. You think I should add a spacer kit with this or slap on some spidertrax instead for a better stance?

Is this just springs or also shocks and struts? If just springs, do you know how they will pair with Bilstein 5100’s?

Hey for what it's worth, I put a Cornfed spacer lift on my 08 V6 runner 4x4. 2" up front, and 1" in rear. I have FJ coils in the back. 265/70/17 BFG KO2's on stock powdercoated wheels, and 1.25 wheel spacers.

Interesting, others on here I've seen with the same lift set up didn't appear to have that much rake. Is it more perspective in that picture since you're facing down a driveway?

I have the same lift as DEF4Runner on my 04 V8 (literally just got it back from the shop) and my rear is 1" higher than the front. Was expecting level so hoping it settles a bit from the 2.5" it is now and eventually gets close to level.

Yeah, it's facing down the driveway AND the 5100's are set at 0. At the end of the day, I netted about 2.5 on all 4 corners.

Thanks man, I really like the look. Any other photos from the front or at an angle?

I don't have any others right now. My son and I bolted them up right before Christmas and the damn temps fell into the single digits/teens. Not sure I could get a good shot, even WITH the motion control. ;)

We're supposed to hit the upper 30s this weekend. I'll see if I can get some more after I hit the car wash to remove the road brine.

Really thinking about the T1/T12’s now. I jacked up one side just to see what it would look like and this is pretty close to the measurements I think. Would I be skipping leg day?

Also what do you think about this mock-up with these tires? They’re 265/70/17
