Whats the cheapest method to lift my rig 2" to 3"?
I dont offroad but at the same time i dont want side affects in ride quality
Also any pics of lift sizes?

I just put on 33/12.5 on today. Here is some pics with a 3" OME lift that I got a year ago from toytechlifts.com. I think that I paid something like 300.<center>

I think its a little high for a family truck though
Whats the step down, 2" i guess?
also $300 is a little too much for just the looks for me, is there like spacers with out coils or somthing simple and cheap?

im think toyteclifts.com has either 2.5" or 1.5" suspension lift kits for less than $300...btw that 3" OME lift and 33/12.5 A/T tires is exactly what im getting, looks good

I'm willing to pay $200 with instllation and all, do you think ill find any thing with this price range?
 
those are the same rims i want will. did you upgrade your shocks when you got the lift and how does it ride? i have heard it rides stiff

honestly, your not going to find anything in that price range unless you find a good deal on spacers and install them yourself. The cheapest (quality, which is debateable) spacer lift you'll find will run from about 250-350 and then if you get someone to put em in for you, your looking at another 100/hour and they take about 3-4 hours to install. I got a killer deal on my lift and it was still 425 installed. I have a 2.5 daystar spacer, which I will be slowly replacing anyway...
 
I've had ZERO problems with it. It was exactly what I wanted...at the time (a cheap lift, that lifted the truck) but now that I've gotten into wheelin' and more advanced trails I'll be replacing the rear coils with Land Cruiser coils for the added clearance and articulation. The front end gets little flex because the spacers do precompress the coil making it stiffer so I'll be replacing those later on with OME 882's. My advice is to really think about it, "will i get into off-roadin'? Will I ever need the articulation?" cause if you get the spacers, you'll prolly wish you would have saved the extra cash cause you'll be replacing anyways. Haha, but to answer your question, I haven't had any problems with the spacers, but keep in mind they do give you a stiffer ride. You get what you pay for, and if what your looking for is strictly a lift for looks, the spacers are the way to go.
 
and to answer muddy's question, the go rhino grill guards are pretty reliable, I got mine a little over a year ago, but I did just recently take it off. It's actually up for sale if anyones interested. I'm upgrading to a custom steel bumper once I get it sold. Any takers? :)
 
...oh absolutely. Because the ride is stiffer, there's less body roll. If you roll mainly street but still want the lifted look the spacers are the way to go, in my opinion. It's practical. BUT keep in mind, if you have a sagging rear prior to the spacers, they won't fix that. All the spacers do is raise the vehicle, so if your rear sags say about a half inch, after your install the spacers and give them time to settle, your going to have a lifted vehicle with a half inch sagging rear.

With that said, IF you have a sagging rear and are looking into the daystar spacers, it may be a good idea to check out Toytec lifts because they offer the front spacer and rear replacement coils. ALso remember, if you have a 99 with the taller coils, when you put a 3 inch spacer in the front, your going to have a 3 inch lift PLUS the extra inch from the stock coils (4 inches total, over stock 4runner excluding the 99's with the taller springs). And replacing the rear coil with a 2.5in or 3 inch coil will only give you 2.5 or 3 inches over stock 4runner's. SO your stuck with a vehicle nose up, ONCE AGAIN.... it can be a catch 22... kind of confusing, but does that make sense?

It rides stiff, but it is not to bad. Yea I replaced the shocks when I put the lift on. I have been wanting these rims forever. Finnaly got them and now I cant be happier:D
 
well my '01 has no signs of sagging in the rear at all right now. the only real reason why i want a lift though is to maybe kinda level out my front with the back since its 2wd and sits a little lower in the front
