Lifter noise

I am begin to think my truck is haunted.
Bought it a week ago and first the power door locks stop working properly. I chuckled because it is my luck to have something piddly go bad.
Asking on here, I was informed it could be the body ecu but for now, I can live with that problem.

Well, then the other night I noticed a lifter ticking.
Drove it around a little and noticed a really bad idle when I came to a stop.
(Sort of reminds you of the feeling if you fail to push the clutch in on a manual when stopping). Once I hit the gas though, it runs smooth like there is no issue other than the ticking sound. Also the check engine light never comes on.

Replaced the oil because I was going to do that anyways not knowing when it was last done. Good news is the oil did not look bad. Added some Marvel Mystery Oil to see if that will quit the tick.

Is the tick and and the idle issue probably related or am I looking at two different issues?

I know Toyotas are awesome vehicles but my luck with them is not that great. Hopefully this one will not prove I have the Yota curse. lol

BTW, it is 1999 Limited 3.4l

Unrelated, I imagine. Ticking sounds like a valve adjustment issue. The rough idle I would tackle with a basic tune up...plugs, wires, clean the MAF for starters. Is it giving you a check engine light? If so, knowing the code could be helpful.

It was not until just now. Took it to Autozone and had them read the code.

One had something to do with the immobilizer.
The other problem is random misfires on all 6 cylinders.

You should really repost this thread in the 3rd gen section, where it can get more views and input. Nobody ever looks in this area.

Thanks, but it I think this time I am taking it in to a shop.
After taking to get checked I think it is getting out of the realm I want to deal with.
I will keep that in mind the next time though.
