Liftgate getting weak . . .

I have an 03 and the liftgate the past couple years has been getting weaker & weaker. As most people know, when it gets colder the struts don't want to work very well at all, but we live in Phoenix and even at 50 degrees I am smackin' my head on the gate when it doesn't go up all the way.

I see online a couple places where I can get aftermarket for like $35 each. My question is - is it worth it and will they make that much difference? Or should I just man-up and live with a sore head?

I might need to get the ones on my hood replaced. When it's cold, it tends to fall down within 10 minutes. But it stays put during the spring & summer.

the last vec. i had developed that after 10 years so every winter i just clamped a visegrip on the shaft when i opened it.

Don't take this the wrong way but its worth it if you don't appreciate it falling on your head and why wouldn't NEW shocks not make much of a difference? There new so they should make a huge difference.

I woudn't think twice about buying new shocks. I did so on an old Z-28 I had years ago and it was well worth the money.
