Lifting 4th Gen Tomorrow (6/18/05) -- Please Advise!!!

I am planning on installing a Revtek kit on my 04 4Runner tomorrow and I heard that it is necessary to replace your cotter pins when you remove them. I want to try and have some stocked up before I begin working on the truck, but can't seem to figure out which size I need. Even the dealer doesn't know for sure which size would apply unless they had one in front of them.

Can anyone please shed some light of this? Is it really necessary to replace the cotter pins instead of just re-using them?

Autozone/Pepboys/Any auto supplies shop has assorted cotter pins for $4.99 or less. It comes with approximately 20 or so various sizes.

Just drop by on of the stores and ask "cotter pin" and they'll just get the assorted pack for you.

You'll want to replace them as safety first.

make sure to rent some coil compressors (if you already don't have some) and tie rod tools (both free w/ c/c info). I know autozone does it for free so check them out.

other than that, some handy tools (air would be sweet) and additional manpower should get you thru the job in less than 4 hrs.

don't forget to double check all bolts you remove...

I think I have most of the stuff I will need to complete the job -- jack and jackstands, spring compressor, hand tools, lift kit. I thought I read in 4route's write-up that it would be helpful to have a pickle fork(?) and some other tools ... is this what you're talking or can you provide me with anymore specifics please Good Times.
