Lifting front end

Hi all. 2007 4runner 2wd V6. While lifting front end, I noticed that the driver front tire comes off the ground much sooner than the passenger side. Never noticed that before. I ended up needing to jack the front end higher because the passenger side was still on the ground when the driver side was a little less than an inch already off the ground. Jacking point center of vehicle cross member front end. Vehicle seems to ride just fine nothing unusual.

Does that sound normal? any idea why that would happen?

I would think both sides would raise at the same rate. thanks!

Could be the driver side lean coming in to play. Was it with a full tank of gas? Or close to full? The 4Runners have the battery and gas tank on the same side (driver), causing the entire car to lean a bit with a full tank of gas and stuff. Could be what you were experiencing.

Thanks for the comments. Tank was about 1/2 full. Since vehicle is heavier on the driver side, I would guess that the driver side would raise after the passenger side. In other words it would take longer to raise the driver side than the passenger side because of the extra weight on driver side.

In my situation, the opposite is actually happening--driver side is lifting off the ground sooner than the passenger side.

I think this is fairly normal. If your jack is off center by even a fraction of an inch, the tires won't come off the ground at the same time.

also if your not on flat ground that could do it also
