Lifting the front end on a lifted runner

Hi all! I have an 04 lifted with the ome suspension. I need to replace the calipers(Today) and i need the whole front end off the ground. I was wondering whats the best route to do this? My jack barely gets the wheels off the ground and my jackstands come no where near where i need them to be to have it properly off the ground. I dont have a hilift yet so what other options do i have? Any?As of right now instead of using cinder blocks i thought 4x4s would be a better option. Still having a problem getting the jack to go high enough. Sorry if this is a noob question but i need to get this done today. Thanks

Buy jackstands.

You can get away with using a block of wood under the jack, but you really want to support the car safely while you are working on it. It would suck to loose an arm.

I do have jackstands there just not tall enough to keep the wheels off the ground

I used a 6in section of 4x4 pt plywood with my floor jack. Very not safe.

Where are you jacking from? Even a modest floor jack will lift it with the jack under the lower-control-arm. You want the jack as close to the tire as possible. Once up jackstand it. Just do one side at a time, it's easy enough that way.

:iagree: I've used this method before. Should work out fine for doing the brakes. If you have a little spare cash lying around, check out harbor freight's "6 ton" jackstands, they stand up pretty high and were too big before the lift, but now are perfect. Even if you don't get bigger stands now, you're probably going to want them later if you do a lot of work on your truck. Good luck!

agree, you should be able to jack from under the Lower Control Arm no problem.
