I did that for a while before I discovered RTTs. I just kept the small tent in the nosebox of the trailer. For scooter trips, I would park the bikes next to the trailer at night and pitch the tent. For camping trips, I would load the bed with my gear and firewood. When I got to camp, I would set up the tent on the platform and the gazebo behind it with an additional tarp strung over the tent and tied to the roof rack of the truck. Worked well.

Thats a really awesome trailer!! Nice build and especially through hard times. Hope all is going well.

But... am i the only one who noticed the 3rd Gen pulling the trailer when he went to get it weighed? Then the 1st Gen to go camping? So do you have two and one is for camping and the other a DD? haha

Thanks, and the Wife is doing well. Just went for a PET scan yesterday, so fingers crossed on the results!!! :)


Took the '99 to get the trailer weighed, because I can, and it was what was out of the garage at the time.

I could have taken the '87.

Or the '97.

Or the '95 :cheers:

I took the '87 off road 'cause that is what is most capable at the moment. It has the low gears, rock sliders, and winch.
The '99 is not quite ready. Still need to get a winch, build rock sliders, & build a rear bumper. Then she will be ready for the rocks. :roadkill:

Oh good grief. Wow i guess i shouldve checked your sig... That is truly amazing! Working on getting one of every Gen? haha. Must be nice to have that many 4Runners. I want to get a 4wd 1st Gen since my 3rd Gen is only 2wd. Maybe one day, im only in college atm so ive got a while to go. Congratz with being able to maintain all of them, granted it is Toyota so they run strong! Just gotta Love it!

It can be a chore to keep up with all the maintainance, especially since I only have my 'Yota vehicles in my sig.
Add in a '92 Stanza ( last NEW car we bought ), a '67 Impala SS convertible, and our son's '79 El Camino. Throw in a couple of chinese scooters to round out the list, and there is always something to work on.

Unfortunately the Wife's scan showed some more spots. Getting detailed scans next week to determine the next course of action.
We were hoping it was over, but it was not to be. The fight continues until we have it beat!

I'd love to get another 2nd gen, but it would have to have the 22RE & 5 speed. Not about to get 3.slo again.
Give it time. You've got a solid start with the 3rd gen. FINISH college and you can get what ever you want. :beer:
 
Awe man im sorry to hear about that. Hopefully the worst of it is behind you. Im glad your able to stay positive about it and your staying strong and seeing the glass half full.

You had me at Impala SS. How big is your garage? haha you have to have some kinda extra garages to keep all these vehicles...
Yeah i love those old 22RE's. I had an old 91 Pickup, then someone hit me and totaled it. Then after insurance $ my parents bought me the 3rd Gen. Worked out great for me! Just wish she was 4wd... But she gets the job done so all is good. I guess ill just stick to minor aesthetic mods till i finish college then really go all out... Thanks for the advice and keep up the great work!

She'll beat this. She may be small ( 5'2" ) but she's very head strong. This is just a little setback in the main battle. :boxer:
It's just a matter of time before she licks it for good. :trophy:


An older shot of the Impala. The blue one I had for years. It rusted out so bad, it was cheaper to buy the red one & build a garage for it than to fix it up.

You can see the garage behind the Wife's white '97. It's a large 3 car. We had the 3rd bay made extra large to fit the Impala into.
The garage itself is 24' deep by 35' wide. We figured if we were going to build a house, let's only do this once and do it right. Still need a bigger garage. :lmao:

Im glad i found this thread you really kinda meet some really awesome people!

Wow that is a pretty big garage haha must be nice to have all that room! Yeah it will probably always be that way never have enough room, like you can never have enough 4runners! haha My truck just sits out front parked in the grass. Yeah you got it figured out, dont go buy a bunch of brand spanking new vehicles when you can buy 5+ awesome 4runners and old school favorites! haha That is a really nice house btw i like it!

Oh really? Wait... USL or ULL? Ive never heard of USL but a close friend of mine goes to ULL i wonder if maybe they changed names? Im going to Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond for this year, then transferring to LSU next year *whoop whoop*

Yeahh the weather this winter has succkkedd... It has been cold for a total of maybe 3 weeks all winter. Yeah i guess both Florida and Louisiana are kinda on the same wavelength with heat and humidity to an extent haha.
The heat really sucks when i try to go hunting, deer dont like to move when its hott. And i technically dont wanna be sweating being attacked by mosquitoes the whole time either haha. Would you believe me if i told you i hunt in Baton Rouge? Not sure how familiar you are with B.R. though...

I Loveee the food! There isnt anything like cajun seasoning! Gotta love the sportsman paradise! Seafood, venison, gumbo, jambalaya, crawfish, you name it!
 
Yea, I seem to remember they changed the name a while back. Seems it took too long to write University of Southwestern Louisiana on everything. Was there from '84 to '86.
Was dating a girl who was going to cullinary college in Lafayette. Man, she could cook! and the food wasn't bad either :girl:

I go to Georgia to hunt now, but I grew up hunting in Florida. It didn't get nice until late Nov. early Dec. :hunter:

The only time really went to Baton Rouge was for nickle beer night.
My roomie / frat brother ( Lambda Chi Alfa )was from New Orleans, so spent more weekends there with his family than anywhere else.
