Alright so I bought a Hunter push bar and want to mount Hella 500s on it. The problem is the bar didnt come with holes for mounting. I have two options. One, I can drill and mount the lights on brackets on top of the bar. This isnt a hard procedure, but I like the unobscured chrome grill. The second option which I prefer is to add a smaller cross tube towards the bottom of the push bar, right below the front license plate. This would allow lights to be mounted without covering the front grill. I also think option two may add some stability to the bar. Neither are hard mods, just want to get everyone's opinion. Here are pics to illustrate what each would look like.

On top similar to what Doug - A10MileHusker has done

Adding a second cross tube.

Why not "Do both locations" as Fo_SheeZy suggests? As they often say, it's better to have and not need, than to need and not have.

But if you had to start somewhere, I'd start at the bottom and work my way up.

hahah Im doin one or the other. I cant afford a new alternater to power 9 lights!!!:D

I would say go ahead and mount them higher, mainly b/c they would be more protected higher up (less likely to be broken by rocks when off roading/less likely to be backed into by some car not paying attention)
