Light Racing UCA's and Duratrac 285's - Tight Fit!

Just installed the OW 2.0 full suspension kit, Light Racing UCA's and Duratrac 285's on my 2010 SR5. (Pics to come on the lifted thread.) The Duratracs were installed on my stock SR5 wheels, and the inside sidewalls of tires are really close to the UCA's. I can't even get a finger in-between them, and it gets even tighter at full droop, although they never touch. I'm considering Spidertrax spacers to alleviate this, but don't know how much additional trimming I'll have to do to not rub. (I'm going to to the inner fender mod today to eliminate the present rub at full lock .) What's the consensus -- is this tight clearance a problem, or should I get Spidertrax and trim what I need to to alleviate any additional rubbing?

spacers or new wheels. tight fit will most likely be a problem wheeling or even turning on incline/decline at full lock

I'm thinking about Pro Comp 7069's. Do you happen to know what the proper backspacing would be for those wheels, for use without spacers? 5 1/2''?

a lot of guys have done the 17x8 mojave's with 4.5 BS 0 offset - see like every picture of the Mojave's in the picture thread.

I checked them out - those are what I had in mind. So, no spacers needed with those wheels? (If they're going to fix the tire clearance/UCA issue, I might just spring for the wheels, rather than drop $200 on spacers now, and then want wheels later.)

no spacers needed - but realize i don't have these wheels and pulled that info out of my @$$ so make sure everything i told you is correct.

I believe Harper7 has a decent write up in his build thread. MrGrimm has them too.

Yeah 17x8" with 4.5" of backspacing would be perfect. You just may need to move the front fender liner forward or do a little bit of trimming so the tires don't rub, if you haven't yet.

I did the OW 2.5 kit with the light racing UCAs and Duratrac 285/70/17 but with the Spidertrac spacers on the stock TE wheels. That worked other than for rubbing on the plastic wheel wells both front and back and one corner of the frame. The frame needed a slight trimming to correct this in addition to the plastic. Apparently this is done on FJs all the time. In the end, this combo works well.

The TE wheels are 7.5'' wide though, so your sidewalls don't bulge out as far as on SR5 wheels with 285's. What other adjustments are there? Caster?

I'm trying to shy away from spacers - just a personal preference though. After talking with Harper7 and checking out other threads, I think I'm going to go with 17x8's with no spacers. Hopefully, that'll bring in my sidewalls enough to give me better clearance.

I love my setup 17x8 -10 offset on 285 duratracs with spidertrax. Spidertrax really give the truck a great stance.

I'll be running the 285 duratracs on my new sequoia split 5 wheels. I'll tell you how that is.

Andrew - I'm thinking about Yuma 908B's..17x8, 0 offset, 4.5 BS. Can you tell me about a -10 offset wheel? Will that get me further away from the UCA? Can't seem to find the Yumas with the same specs as your Konigs..
