Limited Fender Flare Relocation Higher Up

Has anyone removed their fender flares to cut the body for more flex and successfully relocated them higher up on the vehicle out of the way? I imagine it wouldnt be to hard with plenty of ways to reattach them, just curious if there are any photos out there.

Yes google doesnt respond well to this question or the search here.

Thanks!

I dont have the limited flares i have the black sr5 flares and have done this, look through my build its right after i got the 35" tire.

I cut 2" out of the top and almost 3" out of the lower sides (this is along the lip, not where it mounts to the car) and reattached my flares to the fenders with nuts and bolts. I also shaved out the inside of the flare to make it a hollow shell vs pressing against the fender on both sides of the flare.

I'll find some pics soon, rearranged all my file storage recently...

ive seen some people do this, the only problem is this only works if you have the stock track width. he is running f250 width axles.

Why wouldnt this work, minus the mud flap reattachment. Im cutting the wheel wells and installing flares higher up, nothing to do with axles.

I did notice the flare on the rear doors can only go a few inches until it hits the door handle but this could work as a guideline...

moving the whole flare up would work. only cutting the inside out would make it rub because of the extra track width.

I understand what your getting at, and that would make this a little less worth while but regardless I will share with you what I did.

I cut varying amounts of the fender and shaved the inside of the flare off. I suppose to gain more clearance from the flare you could shave more than just the inside and take it up the ~2" where the flare transitions from flat to curved. I would personally consider that your best option unless you want to get another set of flares and cut them all to pieces and mesh them back together combined to make the flare taller and shifted farther forward in order to remove more of the fender and retain a factory look. (on a side note I'd love to see an attempt at this by someone)

In the three pictures you'll see what was removed.
