LiquiMoly "Ceratec" from Germany

I am a little concern because after adding the Ceratec and driving for 5-6k miles the oil that was draining out was sorta milky with a slight shine like glitter in it? Did your oil drain look like this? I have never seen any of my oil changes look like this on any and all cars that I have owned. It only seemed to happen after adding the Ceratec and later changing the oil.

I have the used oil in a small container and noticed that the foreign substance settles to the bottom. I then inserted a screwdriver and stirred the oil and noticed a lighter colored/swirl starting to appear, then the lighter colored matter then settled to the bottom again? The lighter color matter looked sorta like the Ceratec liquid???

Has this happened to you?

Have you changed the oil a couple of times since adding the Ceratec and if so, what color was the oil drained? Did it return back to normal???

How is your engine running now? Any problems?

Never saw any glitter in over 15,000kms in two oil changes........glitter is not good and I hope you are "mis-discribing" what your are seeing!

Well it's been around 4 tanks of gas and I must say I went from a steady 42mpg on the Satty driving to and from work to 44-46mpg. It was never below 44mpg since. And last tank was 45.8mpg. Oil at 1400 miles is still honey color with a milkyness to it. I'm very happy. And hope this lasts through a few oil changes. Not just this oil change interval.

You are getting 42MPG with a 3.4L V6? If so, congrats man......I have only reached the peak of 25MPG on mine in the many years I have owned her. What is your secret????? (Please share....)

Good point....looked at his user name and it had something like "19963.4" in it and I "ass-umed" he was talking bout a 3rd gen....LOL

Put this into an engine with fresh oil, went half a dosage, still afraid . First impression after driving 20 miles, engine is quieter, another 100 miles, response to throttle has improved.

To revive an old thread, I've been using this stuff about every 4-5 oil changes and get reliably 1-2 MPGs better on the highway, and the engine does run quieter and smoother as they advertise. The effects seem to go away pretty quickly after an oil change though, so I don't believe their claim that it treats the engine for a full 30k miles...

The way I see it, the bottle more than pays for itself in one oil change interval. Doing the math: in a 5k mile oil change interval, if this brings me from 15 to 16 MPGs, assume gas is at $4.50/gal, i'm saving about $93 on gas in one oil change interval. That's pretty darn solid if you ask me.

When you drain the oil it comes out a tad bit off-colored compared to untreated oil. But definitely not blown head gasket "milky". just a tad cloudy. If youre seeing sparkles in your oil you've got something else going on.

The new engine in my 97 SR5 has all but 30k miles on it now. I’m thinking about putting a bottle in it and another in my little Saturn.

One thing about the Germans, they don't sell Snake Oil products. If the product doesn't have verifiable results, you generally can't claim them on a package.

Their consumer protections are very stringent. Even Auto Repairs are more heavily regulated there than the US to protect the customer from shady practices.

Its just good to know the product isn't snake oil..
